My wife tried to give birth here around 8 months ago - our experience was not positive. The initial intake was great but the experience on the day of labor was lacking. Nurses weren’t trained it appeared and place is very disorganized. My recommendation is to go with Piedmont if you have an option.

Woah, I don't even know where to begin. The intake process is tedious and stressful. It's like pulling at teeth to talk to humans about important matters. When you finally speak to a live person, they are lacking in understanding. I attended orientation early July and still have not been seen by anyone.

Amazing experience, love all the midwives I got to meet...Nicole and Vanessa ♥️♥️♥️♥️ took great care of me through it all. The care was exceptional and if I had another baby, this is where I’d receive my care. They made me feel great at every visit.

Can’t recommend the birth center enough. My wife and I felt seen, heard, and protected throughout the course of our pregnancy, labor, and delivery! We love the ABC and the amazing midwives who work there. 5 Stars without a doubt.

No you have to switch over to amerigroup but it's still medicaid, they fill up pretty quick so go on their site and register for the orientation on Tuesdays bc you have to start with that to have care there
We currently accept Amerigroup.
Hi Nani, that totally depends on your insurance coverage. Some people pay $0, others may have a deductible and co-insurance owed. If you have no insurance, our Billing Manager will help you create a time of service or financial hardship agreement. Each client will have a detailed estimate given to them by the Billing Manager before they schedule an initial visit. ~Dr. Sam We are accepting Amerigroup patients.
Yes
Because there is a lot of variation in insurance and important considerations in the event of a hospital transfer, each potential client should explore with them directly.
Hi Ashlee - Thank you for your inquiry. We are in-network with Amerigroup but have recently paused on accepting Amerigroup clients until a billing issue is resolved from their end. We anticipate that resolving soon and will be able to resume accepting Amerigroup. Regarding vaccines, please feel free to give us a call directly at (404) 474-2770, so we can better understand what you mean by vaccine free so we can provide you with the most accurate information.
At the moment, we are not in network with Peach State, but we are in network with Amerigroup. We continue to explore the possibility with Peach State.
Hi Aalisha, I'm happy to answer these questions. We are a birth center, not a hospital, and yes we offer water and lotus birth for our clients. We do have families that travel from Alabama to be clients of ours. Unfortunately, at your current weeks' gestation, we would not be able to have you join our practice because we are full for your due month. For future pregnancies, we recommend you reach out right away when you know you're pregnant to start our intake process.
We accept Medicaid Amerigroup only.
Yes! We are in network with Amerigroup.
Amerigroup is the only Medicaid CMO that we are currently in network with. Other major carriers we are fully in network with are Aetna, Coventry, and United Healthcare.
I am so sorry you're having a difficult time at your current practice. We have Zoom orientations weekly that are required of all incoming clients before beginning care. You can find the dates and times (ABC Orientation/Meet the Midwives) on our website events calendar or Facebook events tab.
BP from a previous pregnancy is not in and of itself a disqualification. But if you did experience high BPs in *this* pregnancy, you may not qualify to continue prenatal care and birth with us, depending on your unique circumstances. Hope that helps! Come to an ABC Tour or Meet the Midwives to learn more!
Not in and of itself. If there are other complicating health factors, a person may not qualify, but there will be a clinical intake process that will determine that up front before you schedule an initial visit. =) ~Dr. Sam
We are currently in network with the CMO “Amerigroup” but not CareSource
The Atlanta Birth Center has this option!
It has to be Amerigroup!
They accept Amerigroup which is a Medicaid insurer
The only CMO we are currently in network with is Amerigroup. ~S.
I had to call and get that type of info... I know they don't take Kaiser... And I believe they accept Aetna. The list of accepted insurances is fairly small. But they work with you to pay out of pocket
Come to a tour or Meet the Midwives!
Right now we have a financial hardship rate of $5,500 for the prenatal care and birth at our facility for those folks with no insurance coverage. -Dr. Sam
Yes.
VBAC is not allowed in the birth center setting. If you’ll email, I can provide you with some wonderful resources for folks who can provide this care for you in the Atlanta area! ~ Dr. Sam
We require a 20-week ultrasound (others only as medically necessary) and refer clients to a perinatologist for the service as mentioned in other comments.
