Had lasik in 2006. Today, 16 years later, was my first eye appointment since then and I still have 20/15 vision in both eyes: Age got me requiring readers/progressive lenses now is all…but needless to say I’m a happy customer!

Dr. Shofner and his staff are very friendly and professional. My husband and I have been patients for over 22 years and we hope to continue using his practice for many years to come!

After waiting a year with trepidation I finally decided to get a lens implant ( Cadarec ) surgery. A referral by a friend led me to the Shoffner Eye Center. Both eyes had a degree of blur or cloud typical of a 70+ yr old person. The right eye was worse, so I elected to have that eye done first. I chose the most expensive , and "Best" lens which was supposed to take care of close up, med, and distance. I had approx 20-40 vision going into this procedure. Insurance doesn't pay for the " Best" lens, so I paid approx $4500 myself. The surgery went well, and the recovery was not bad at all. The staff is very helpful and no one high pressured me at any time. Roughly 5 days after the procedure I developed two floaters in my right eye. I had Shoffner check to see if they could be removed, and they determined that the floaters was in the Retina area, and cannot be seen by their equipment, so the operation could be risky going into the retina area. Within a few more weeks my vision in the subject eye had slipped back to approx 20-40 again. So now, months later, I have the same or worse vision, floaters, and out time and a lot of money . Shoffner wanted to operate on my left eye as well, but I am not willing to spend potentially $9000 and end up with non guaranteed results which could be similar to my right eye . This is a difficult review to write.
