I was very hopeful in adopting a cat from their rescue, however, I was seriously disappointed. Not only was it the emotionless volunteers and the very odd rules, but the fact there were cats there for over a year really shows. They did not seem too enthusiastic about me asking questions regarding the cats and some of their issues. I’ve worked with various rescues as a volunteer, fostering and working adoption events and I was always extremely enthusiastic, glad someone was asking about them and hoping all of them would be picked to go home. Never have I seen such an odd rescue. I would not recommend visiting or adopting.

Nice people doing their best to find good homes for kitties. We applied and hopefully are accepted for a bonded pair of kittens. They are a non profit and need all the help we can give. The volunteers there are cat lovers and are very sweet people.

Worst experience trying to adopt an animal. I have since adopted a cat elsewhere and do not think anyone should support Almost Home. I cried the whole way home after getting rejected. The animal tech wanted to give me the news in person because she believed me and my husband to be a good couple. However, the manager hiding in the back room lording over who can and cannot adopt is cruel. How can you sit in the back and not meet the people you are rejecting? I am surprised this non-profit has so many dedicated volunteers. This place holds evil and I would like to never think about my experience ever again.

I’d give a lower score but I’m just happy the cats have a place to be. Our application was denied without a video visit. When we were there a volunteer said they could review our app and schedule a video visit ASAP but then they went into the back and came back and said that wasn’t possible and they would let us know if a few days if our app was a approved. How could we assume anything else other than we were judge on appearances if the video visit wasn’t even scheduled prior to denial? We were looking to adopt 1 cat for our two person home… There’s no reason for us to not be approved. Looking at other reviews and denied applications I wonder if it’s because of how we look or our age? I literally can’t think of any other reason we would have been denied. Anyways, we will be looking into other shelters/adoption agencies because I know we will make amazing cat parents. I also find it weird that there are several “long term residents” and so many denied applicants- is their mission really to find homes for these cats? What on earth do they base their criteria on if judging by looks? It’s really frustrating.

Most of the volunteering requires you to be 18 years or over to volunteer, but we do have opportunities for children 14 years and older to help out. Stop by Almost Home Adoptions for more information: 6010 W 88th Avenue Westminster CO 80031
This shelter is amazing, they do so much good. And yes they always need stuff like clumping litter and paper towels and wet food, they usually have what they need written on the sign outside by the traffic light.
I don't know the answer to that question but I would definitely give them a call
If not i can find a place for the fur baby.
Almost home adoption often get kittens in and has some right now.
We adopted two kitties, and bothe were spayed
Give Almost Home Cat adoptions a call.
Not sure. They have a constant change in pets and there are people there daily who would be able to tell you what pet is available. Sorry but that's the best I can tell you.
This is an animal rescue, so if you go in, and the breed you want isn't there, it isn't there. The adoption process is kinda strict, but the animals are all healthy and well cared for, all shots, and are spayed or neutered. I'm a big fan of this shelter, and its worth a visit.
The adoption fee we paid was $150.
You have to complete the application process. Depends on the outcome.
I'm sure they could use them.
There are plenty of kittens always up for adoption. You can always come in and see them in the kitten room. If there are none at the shelter you can always ask a volunteer to see if there are any in foster care. Some of the kittens in foster care are not brought to the main shelter right away due to needing basic vet treatment or to be spayed or neutered.
They can take in abandoned cats, it's recommend that you contact the staff there to see if there is room. There is also an intake form as well.
