Save your cash and find a school with guarantees.... and actual instructors. I was talked into the immersive a couple years ago, finally attended the 6-month, full time course. The first three months, we basically didn’t have an instructor, we had someone who finished the course a few months prior take attendance, give us a warm up problem only, occasionally we’d get a solution, if another student found one, otherwise we’d be left wondering. Then our instructor would disappear all day long, until the warm down at 4pm. I didn’t even know they were our instructor until the day she quit, and another student expressed concern about how we would get any help when our instructor was gone now. I was shocked, we had been googling most of our info, and taking short, impromptu seminars, which mostly were geared to people much farther along in the class. You would think someone would see that our cohort had little to no instruction but the person managing the school didn’t seem to notice. As other cohorts began, we saw some were getting full time instructors which stayed in the class most of the day, all of it in some cases. We did get instructors for the last half of the course, one during each time for the 17 or so of us. They were former students also, except one, all had finished the course within a year of our class, so teaching was not something they had strong skills in. I struggled and let instructors know, Was told I would get some extra help, I got maybe an hour or two total extra, and spent 97% of my time alone, with google. Learning little to nothing. The company bought Hack Reactor during our cohort and the remaining few actual instructors with experience and confidence in their knowledge left and our cohort never really got to learn from them. This school hires its grads to pad it’s numbers but the teaching is very minimal and spotty at best. Often times the best student is the one primarily being taught, and everyone else is being dragged at their pace, never to look back. Lots of stories about this place, nice people, seemed like it WAS a good school, and has the chance to be, but the quality of instruction, or lack there of, and constantly changing curriculum(ours changed about 3 times significantly, recourses changed more often than that, many were very bad), made it a total cluster-f. Ultimately students taught each other in cliques, so if you didn’t have sharp people with experience to work with, it’s you and google pretty much. They had this que for questions. After my 4th or 5th question was in there over a week, I gave up in that. I could go in, but what’s the point, you get the idea.

What a waste of money and time. Not only have I haven’t been able to find a job in over 2 years, but I received no help from “career services” after I got done with Galvanize. Keep your money and avoid this place

Questions & Answers

Is there a gym/exercise area here? Does it have showers and lockers? Does it come with the membership/rent if so?

Yes, yes, and yes

Is there parking? If so, where, and how much?

There is no onsite parking, which is an oversight IMO. Many of my colleagues use street parking in Highland for free, just make sure the spot is not designated for 2 hours only. Another good place is the Denver Downtown Aquarium for $7 a day, if you don't mind the slight walking. There are also metered street parking and parking garages/lots, but their availabilities do not seem reliable to me.
