Maybe we hit it on a bad day, but we were looking for good cannoli and macaroons, and this was definitely not it. The owner is a very nice lady, but who fills their cannoli with CHOCOLATE FROSTING?? Maybe she ran out of ricotta? The shells were not even good. So disappointing. I bought a number of them to take home to family, and we had to throw them out. We couldn’t eat the macaroons either; they just were not good. We did buy a couple loaves of bread, which we enjoyed. The food menu looked great, so maybe that’s their strong point. Food seemed to have very good reviews.

I can’t say enough about this place but I’ll try to keep the word count of this review down for the sake of those (like me) with short attention spans. You absolutely NEED to visit Alvaro’s. I have yet to come across something on the menu I don’t like. The breakfast items are so fresh and delicious that if I think about them too hard I could cry happy tears. Imagine a fresh egg on a fresh piece of italian bread with a hot cup of fresh made espresso… chefs kiss! The lunches are also fantastic. I frequent here on Wednesdays when I have to be in the office and the only things I look forward to those days are a dish of Alvaro’s tortellini and a phenomenally sweet biscotti for dessert. I haven’t been to the dinner service since before covid, but I’m assuming the experience it just as wonderful. Personally, Alvaro’s make me feel like home. I love walking out and smelling like fresh bread and pastries. The family makes you feel like you’re part of the neighborhood whether you’re a regular or just stopping by for a slice on your way through town. Do yourself a favor, if you haven’t already, and dine here! It’s a must.

Limited people allowed inside no more than five. Masks required. Ropes keeping you six feet from staff.
Yes, they do- a few tables set up just outside their establishment
Yes the gelato is authentic and amazing and made on premises.
They open at breakfast at 10 and start serving lunch at 11:30 and you don't need a reservation. However it is BYOB, for lunch or dinner hahaha. but you do need reservations for dinner which is Thursday Friday Saturday. On-street parking is not a problem. It's one of my favorite places.
