I brought in my vehicle for maintenance after the check engine light came on. The repair was for a pair of faulty sensors. However, after picking up the car the hood would not latch completely. The damage is obvious from both visual inspection and when driving above 25mph. The damage was not apparent before the maintenance but was there immediately after picking the vehicle up.

I've always understood that you pay more at a dealership for repairs, but I've always trusted that I would get good service. Despite people's horror stories I've always had good experiences until I started coming to Frederick Subaru. I've gone 3 or 4 times and never had anything major concerns about my experience. This last time I went in because my oil was leaking. They said my head gasket was cracked and they wanted to charge me over $4K to fix it. When I asked for more clarification of what was going on and how could this have happened I felt rushed to make a quick decision. I eventually decided I wanted a second opinion. I went somewhere else and only told them that my oil was leaking and I wanted a second opinion on the problem. They looked at it and said my oil filter was incredibly dirty and was overflowing and that's why it had been leaking. I asked about the head gasket and he said there was no problem with it. Since the other shop cleaned everything up I've had no issues with oil leaking. I'm so disappointed with Frederick Subaru. This was either an issue of gross incompetence or blatant fraud. Whatever the reason is, I will not be back.

Lost my trust with their service. Last time I was here they said my brake pads were in the "Yellow", meaning they will need a replacement soon. But during this service they magically went to "Green" and luckily I had the last service report in my glove box and showed that to the service manager and he apologized for the inconsistency and said the last person who did the service is no longer with the company and the current one is right. Its just funny that I was willing to spend the extra bucks to have them look at the brakes and replace them if needed but it seems like they weren't bothered.. Time to find a local mechanic and I will not be returning to this dealer / service again.

To just get the oil change and rotate tires. Go to the quick lane, the used lot for the frederick motor company. But it is first come first serve, no appointments. I just made an appointment the other day with the service department for a CEL and vehicle can't be seen til almost April.
As someone said, depends on what you buy and your credit rating,. I'd add that it also depends on if any sales are going on and also what bank or be if Ford Credit is being used for the loan
