Went into this location to upgrade 3 unopened brand new cans of paint to a more expensive finish and paint. I looked at the Home Depot policy on paint returns and exchanges before I came and it states if a customer is unhappy for any reason with a paint they can return it and Home Depot will make it right. It doesn’t list any exceptions. This is listed on Home Depot’s website under satisfaction guarantee for paints. I even called this store before I came today and spoke with a man at customer service to confirm and he said yes bring it in. I went in and approached an unhappy and very liberal looking customer service rep named Claudia who didn’t seem to want to be there and was rude and unhelpful. No greeting and no smile only leaning on the Registers lazily. I told her the Home Depot policy and she still told me no she wasn’t going to return or exchange the paints. She then rudely summoned her manager Ed after I requested and he came to the register and he himself also did not make me feel valued as a customer at all. I actually had to show him and point out the policy online for him to get it through his thick stubborn and arrogant skull the Home Depot return policy. After me pleading over and over he finally says he will do it this one time and returned the paints even though I only wanted an exchange. I then was allowed to purchase the more expensive paints. I even spent $150 more than what was returned. Ed has no idea what ‘making the customer happy means’. He didn’t seem to value me as a customer nor was he interested in making my situation right or helping me. The entire store seems arrogant and non helpful. Tall white guy in paint department gives misinformation about the products and doesn’t know jack. Everyone there from Ed to Claudia to the tall young boy in the paint department seemed arrogant and clueless. The Lowe’s is right down the street a half mile away and the customer service experience is way better and store better lit, better stocked, and cleaner. Even Home Depot on RT. 40 in Frederick is way better. This Home Depot on Urbana Pike in Frederick is the worst run in terms of customer service, stock, cleanliness, quality etc…

Me and my family are never going here again. I was checking through different apps for stores around the Frederick area hoping to find some place that sells the exact plexiglass I need. It said this Home Depot had it so me and my family made the trip here. We got here and went to the back and found the plexiglass. I was looking around but couldn’t seem to find the right one, so I went up to the help desk and asked if they could help me find the certain plexiglass I needed. The guy gave me a stare and said “if it’s not over there we don’t have it”. I was going to ask if they also cut plexiglass but the guy didn’t seem too friendly or like he wanted to help. I just nodded and went back to my family. We kept looking and I found the perfect size after 30 minutes of reading measurements and looking through the plexiglass’s. We then went up to customer service and stood in line for about 10 minutes. When it was our turn we asked if they could cut plexiglass for us. The other workers told us they don’t cut plexiglass. Only wood and piping. Now, I understand that they don’t cut plexiglass, but we could’ve saved time by going to Lowe’s if the guy at the help desk would’ve helped us in the first place and informed us that they don’t cut plexiglass. We ended up going to Lowe’s and got much better service there and they cut the plexiglass for us. At Lowe’s all the employees were very friendly to us unlike here at Home Depot…
