The food is great and we are regulars but we wish they took debit cards. Their ATM charges a fee of $3.50 and it is a very fussy ATM. Tonight my partner went to order pick-up. He thought he placed the order and he left to use another ATM because the ATM at the restaurant does not work with his card. He took a 30 minute walk (as he was told that his order will take a while). When he returned the food was not even started. When he asked why they said it was because he had not paid up-front. No one communicated this to him. Then he was told it will be another 45 minutes. He did not want to wait any longer, so he left. Be sure to pay ahead of time when getting take-out from the door and get cash before you go to avoid big ATM fees. Rather than paying an ATM fee, we prefer to apply the extra $$ toward the tip.

Average food, slow service, and pretentious enough to be cash only...no thanks Whenever I'm looking for a new restaurant, I usually check the Google reviews. After having dinner here, I'm surprised Onion Maiden has so many 5 star reviews. Based on my experience here, I began to wonder why this place has so many positive reviews. The food at Onion Maiden is average, we had the Fist Full of Curry, Dan Halen, Weekend Nachos, Manowar, and Trooper. The dawgs were overpriced and disappointing. Nachos were equally disappointing. Seemed like smothering their menu items with cashew cheese sauce is a theme. The curry soup and dan dan had a bit more flavor, but not good enough for me to recommend to friends and family. I would not go out of my way to eat here again. Why does Onion Maiden get so many 5 star reviews? Pittsburgh is not vegan friendly, with very few vegan options in the area, the bar is low. If Onion Maiden was in a bigger market like Portland, San Diego, LA, Las Vegas, Orlando, or even Richmond VA; they would probably see more 3/4 star reviews.

Once again disappointed walked in 90 minutes to close for them to tell us that we can’t order take out because the kitchen is closed. They lied as we watched them seat other people and after asking they said we could maybe seat you but can’t guarantee a table. Only saw two other people there waiting. No reservations, can’t call or order online or even walk in for take out. Drove all the way there for nothing. No other restaurant would ever turn you away like that. It’s a shame a small business like this is so unique here but they refuse to serve their customers. Hard being vegan finding good dining in the city. They’d rather us go get curry at a Thai restaurant and have them slip us fish paste because they aren’t looking out for their customers at all

Hey Mary! Our Wifi barely supports the things we have running on it at the restaurant, so we don't offer it to our guests. Sorry!

How is parking on Sunday afternoons?

As there's no lot, you're at the mercy of whatever's available. I'm not sure there's a reliable answer to this question; your best bet is to try to give yourself a little extra time in case you have to park a short distance from the restaurant.

What on the menu does not contain cashews or nuts of any sorts? We have a vegan friend who we were thinking of exchanging gifts here but my spouse is allergic to nuts...

Thanks Dorian, Lauren, and Kodiak! Mandi, as they all mentioned, we're happy to accommodate any time we can. Just let your server know and they'll make sure to steer you away from any dishes with nuts and cashews, and they'll also alert the kitchen to change their gloves when they prepare your meals. We hope you'll join us!
