Update: they're taking over the empty lot nextdoor, so they'll have more seating available soon. Yay! Great bakery in the Ironbound, delicious Portuguese style coffee and sweets. Been here several times for breakfast and there's always a line. Pay in cash or card. Order at the front of the line and then pay while you wait to get your order. Seating has signs of limit 30min while eating/drinking, which I agree with since otherwise it would be hard to get a table! Their galão (portugueses latte) is delicious and only $2.15. it's smaller than an American coffee, but big enough for a breakfast (see photos attached ). Pingado or cortado ($1.75) is smaller and more dense, great with some sugar. Their pastel de nata is famous in the Ironbound and for $1.65 it's worth getting one or two! You can ask them to warm it up a bit, unless you're lucky enough to arrive when a new batch gets baked. We also tried the chocolate croissant ($2.99) which was more of a napolitana de chocolate, but very delicious and rich in amount of chocolate. The palmieres ($2.60) was good in texture, with nice flakes, but less sweet than I'm used to, which could be a good thing for some people. During Xmas they have the typical Xmas roscón de reyes.

Can't go wrong at this bakery. Authentic Portuguese style café with delicious Pastel de Belém/nata, freshly baked bread, beautiful decorations, and friendly staff.
