Unemployment office is very unlikely to be able to help you die to wv state laws. Rules is rules and they will not do anything to help you. If you're struggling financially and can't work due to no fault of your own they'll tell you to go eat dirt.

I call every week to find out how long it takes to get a deputy decision it's been 52 business days still no decision since July 12 2022 is when I filed my claim . Now first week in October still no decision from claims deputy. This is so unprofessional the people that answer the phone are rude . The lie to you too get you off the phone then when you tell them what they are lying to you about is not true they say your getting hostile which was not the case. I just need a deputy decisions . I wrote a letter . I've called idk what to do anymore . It's awful when it wasn't your fault you were fired and you can't get anyone to help you . I've been nothing but respectful to the workers at my local office and they have been respectful. You only get 26 weeks of help I'm on week 13 still no decision. It's sad

Absolutely awful they have suspended my contractors License and business license twice for not doing there job.multiple times talked to the boss and they say they will correct it the always collect the payments but somehow forget to process them absolutely awful working with these people there’s no higher up when they can’t show accountability either

I have been calling for weeks .I was told through a letter that I have to pay part of my unemployment back also that I was not untitled for the 600 when it first began also I would have to pay it all back . I can not get anyone on the phone.

When you get the card, set up direct deposit on the unemployment site after making a profile on the card website given with the card, then continue to file your weekly claims. That’s all we can do unfortunately. I filed back in March but it took a little more than 6 weeks to finally receive benefits and my backed benefits, now I’ve had a hold on my claim for over 6 weeks but I can’t get ahold of a real person anywhere in Huntington or charleston wv. All we can do is just wait and continue to do what we’ve been doing. Just continue to file your weekly claims.
You need to write a letter & you only have 7 days to do it from when the letter was sent out. I did not know this and I finally wrote a letter & appealing case & they keep denying me. They act like you should know this when you have NEVER done this before. I can never get ahold of anyone & when I do they hang up on me. I have literally been on hold for 3hrs & 45 minutes and gave up. The appeals office is no help whatsoever.
They have not said when it will start. Hopefully soon.

The central office is open Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. Yiu may bring valid photo ID and present yourself for security screening with the West Virginia Capitol Police. An appointment is not required but will facilitate quicker service. Keep in mind our location primarily services employers. We are not a local office .
