Really cool views along the whole trail. Easy hike with very little incline. The MASH site is worth it to hike to.

This simple trail is just beautiful with few inclines, most of it can be pretty simple. You can escalate your workout by traveling closer to the water over the small rocks. But it is a wonderful experience a little over 2 miles round trip. The experience includes a colorful palate and nature's ๐ฆ bunnies ๐ฆ and many wonderful creatures. Also flowers along the way! Parking is $3 per hour 12 flat. Buy enough to not worry about a ticket so you can enjoy your time stress free. It's worth it. There are clean bathrooms in the parking lots. The rangers are super nicr.

The Malibu Creek Rock pools are fun to explore. They can be accessed from the Cistern Trail/Lookout Trail or from the Malibu Creek State Park visitor center. If you come right after it has rained, the water level will be high and you won't be able to safely explore all of the rock pools here. However anytime you come, the area is very relaxing and worth the visit!

Malibu Creek Rock Pool and Lake were such a surprise! It's now my favorite walking trail. It's around 3 miles each way from the parking. There were lots of people swimming and jumping from the rocks into the pool. It looked so fun and refreshing although I'm not sure I wanna brave the unknown in the bottom of the pool.

You can swim. For grilling, there are designated areas you can usel. I don't think you can use your own equipment by the water.
What Mike said. However, just remember that they had the fire there not to long ago too. I haven't hiked to the pools in a while so I'm not sure how it looks now ๐ฌ
Camping I think is still closed as far as swimming goes there are signs that say the rock pool and the lake are closed but we still got to swim two weeks ago
About a mile to the rock pools. $12 parking for the day.
Yes it is for climbing
Not by the pool/rock area but there is a separate camping ground. I have personally seen people set up shop right by the rock pools though, but that's at your own risk
Yes as Terry said, it's further down the creek. Technically the rock pools. There should be signs and if not just follow the people going down the trail.
No, it's a completely natural rock pool. If you hike there during the summer, the creek downstream from the rock pools moves very slowly since it's drier, and since it can get quite mossy it may give that appearance/smell somewhat stagnant, but that creek is flowing away from the rock pools, not toward it. However, since it's a natural pool it's never going to be perfectly clean, so if you're looking for pristine swimming pool water this isn't the spot, but it's safe and fun and I highly recommend it!
Yes the trail to and the pools are open as of the end of December 2020. Check into local and state parks for more information during future lockdowns.
2 to 3 feet with rain in the forecast.
where can i access the cliff to jump into the creek?
I wouldn't say so. For the most part of the trail yes, but close to the pools it's getting pretty rocky and bumpy. I saw people with BOB stroller who couldn't get through that last part of the way
