Love the articles, 5 new ones are published daily! They have so much content my kids can choose from. I enjoy reading the articles as well especially because they have so many topics to choose from.

So I've been using this since 4th grade, and I hate it. Whenever I see the assignment is from here, I'm always like "Ugh, not this". I actually have logical reasons behind this for those of you idiots who give this more than 1 star. 1) They have no original content. They make 0% of their articles, and only adapt from better places. 2) Their power words are messed up. All they are are some simple words that everyone should know, or at least all readers at that level. 3) Their content is not engaging. It is rare that I come upon what I can consider "an interesting article". This could be because all of the articles are about Disney or some obscure person that nobody cares about and will be forgotten in a week! 4) The articles that they do select are also incredibly biased. I would say that 1 in every 10 articles has been purely based on opinion or just plain wrong. 5) Their quizzes are SUPER messed up. One time, I got asked a question starting with "Do you think"! I Ummmmm......... I'm pretty sure it is impossible to get that wrong Newsela. My grades would dip every time we got Newsela for HW, since getting 1 question wrong on a quiz results in a 75%. 6) People always argue over how it is pronounced. Is it news-ella or news-e-l-a? Legitimate question. Overall, this website is not good for school, due to its un-reliability. If the site has even a bit of flat out wrong articles, I don't know what to really trust. I just would go straight to the sources of the articles, because even if they are wrong, it is much easier to check credibility, and they wrote the article, so they should be getting the attention instead of the vampire website. Go die in a hole Newsela. -Like if you agree :)
