I think you have to pay

It is a unbelievable place, it is the most beautiful, coziest, and most cleanest camp ground I have ever visited. It is not too cheap but not too expensive in my opinion. This is an amazing place, it does not even look like you would be in Staten Island. I really recommend this place.

It was closed when I visited the park, however it looks like a comfy and cozy place to camp. There are outside showers (privacy is provided), grilling locations, picnic tables, etc. I enjoyed the water view from the gazebo.

I love this place but this summer it's getting a lot more use. Some people take care of their trash but others leave it behind.. It would be great if people took more responsibility for trash (and even picked up after others, like some of us do!)

There is potable water. You would need to provide your own wash basin and rinse bucket. The showers are 2 outdoor wooden enclosures. They're actually quite nice, with 2 caveats: they get locked around 8pm and sometimes the water is lukewarm at best. I usually take a solar shower kit, which gets quite warm.
Yes. I believe the showers are locked after a certain time.
You have federal, state, local, military, and park police present and patrolling and the emergency number calls the main office of park police which is right down the road no safety concerns at all.
If I remember correctly about 35 dollar per night. No limit BB to number of days.
We camped there with 3 adults and 3 nine year old girls so none I'm aware of.
As long as you have a permit you can stay amok night they don't bother you
I have my doubts. You cannot enter the grounds with a car...
No
No it is for overnight use only but I guess technically you could pay for the night and just not stay the night.... last night a couple drove in had a camp fire decided it wasnt worth camping since the weather was going to be rainy today and left and got a hotel room... technically they just used it without camping lol
No way to set up hammock , no tree in camp area . there are like 8 pads to setup tents . it a field with a cover patio.
No, there are only 6 or 7 spots and they are all strictly walk-in tent camping.
