wont get any help, you need to figure out everything by yourself. all they do is the give you repeated violations, and squeeze as much money from you.

The BROOKLYN DOB office is the best in all 5. If you go there knowing what you need, you will be served fast & efficiently. Uzair at this office is very knowledgeable & helpful, as well as the rest of the staff. Everyone's frustrations should be directed at the city, they make the rules, not the staff at this office.

Brooklyn DOB is a busy place especially now when businesses have started to open up post COVID and more so from September. Best time to visit is within 2-3 hours of opening. When you visit make sure you know what are you trying to do, so you are being served faster.

The Worst Department in all the five Borough, I have buildings all over the five borough and its very easy to get help, but Brooklyn DOB is 20 times worst then DMV. They dont want to help you at all. I went in as a Homeowner to ask them question about Paperwork and why its taking so long. They told me that contact your architect for the information. Why should i contact them, if im here asking you a simple question. all you had to do is look it up on the computer and tell me. Everyone in this DOB need to be fired or reassigned to the other DOB. They are getting to Comfortable here. There is no Respect for Homeowner here.

Yes
Yes, after hours permit
You need to hire a land surveyor, the DOB doesn't do that.
I'd suggest having it surveyed to know what your property lines are, and for proof in the event this becomes a legal matter. Also, go to the buildings dept. on the 8th floor. Check out the construction dept and speak to someone in there about it. They may be able to give you some information
I don't believe you do, as you're a tenant. It's still considered public records.
As long as you don't remove the substrate(plywood) you're fine. That does mean your clear. If a DOB inspector sees that you are working and they have no clue of the rules they can write you up even if they are wrong. Then you have to deal with the violation.
Yes it can be done, however next Plummer must submit and sing necessary papers.
All initial tr's, street tree receipt and pw2 with insurance certificate and PGL1
No
You have to physically go to Brooklyn DOB (8th fl) to ask customer service for a ticket to speak with someone at Records.

Not legal, the Sharad driveway is supposed to be a legal easement and cannot be blocked unless filed with department of finance
go to building department
No, you can request all available records for a property via email if you are in Manhattan but will still will need to go, pull a ticket and pick them up
