Just a heads up this store no longer takes deposits , thought I’d let you know since they won’t tell you. They’ll let you walk around the store picking out frames for yourself or family members and then tell you we longer take deposits putting you on the spot to either leave the store with nothing after wasting your time or paying for their over priced merchandise . Received my glasses which are half frames and the lenses are rough around some areas , my wife and son have waited over 20 days for their glasses and she had to call to find out her glasses “did not pass inspection” . Only reason it’s getting 2 stars is because the sales associates and Optometrist were wonderful . I’d normally give someone the chance to make things right but this place has left a bitter taste in my mouth . I will not be returning after this . Management of this store has gone down the toilet unfortunately .

Good people do exist!!!!!!’ Saturday 9/17/22. My 91 year old father spare glasses was broken and he was very grumpy and impatient. I googled optical store near by and metro came up. I called first to make sure i could be seen and have the glasses back the same day. I was told come in and they would see how they could help. The two ladies at the front desk was very polite and friendly. We had a nice conversation about our elderly parents which put me at ease because he expects things to be done ASAP(well he is 91). Every one was patient ,catered to his needs. the optician try to help him by allowing him to sit and brought the frames to him.the young lady had already prepared the glasses in which at first he did not like ,he wanted to make the choice himself. She willing changed the frame without questions. When it was time to be fitted the glasses was brought to him and the gentleman waited until he was satisfied. I am so sorry I did not get the names of the workers but ,the to the whole team I say thank you for your kindness

I’ve been a member of Metro Optics for many years. I started at their S Boulevard site and was saddened about the temporary closure due to fire back in 2016. Thankfully their Westchester Sq site was open and seeing their patients. Now I’ve been going to Throggs Neck as it’s more convenient since I moved. Not to mention an emergency visit after I got a cut in my cornea a day before vacation and the doctor provided instant relieve and results in under 12 hrs. I can confidently say you are in GREAT hands at any of the sites I just mentioned. So happy Metro Optics serves and offers QUALITY eye-care services to the community in the Bronx!

Walk ins are accepted. Don't know about medicare insurance. You can call them..
The price can be expensive depending on your choice of frame and extras or custom that brings up the price. And with the new price structures doesn't make it easy on your pockets. I found that is a hit or miss. It always depends on the employees if they are a professional and love the job.
I suggest calling or visiting them directly to find out. You should immediately file a police report at your local police station about your stolen bag. Have the report available for Metro Optics and/or your optical insurance company to support your need for replacement frames.
I need a copy of my eye glasses prescription. Do you keep a copy of my prescription on file? If so, do you mail a copy or do I have to come in to pick up a copy?
