Nice, but busy

A beautiful overlook right off the AT, relatively easy to get to - about an hour hike - with gorgeous fall colors! There were lots of folks gathered around, and so we went a little further past the main overlook and found more private spots with the same great view.

It’s 2.5 miles from the parking lot. Most of that is slightly to moderately steep but there is one section that is pretty aggressive. I think it took about an hour and twenty minutes to climb and we were trying hard to catch the sunset. We got down in an hour…mostly in the dark. Great hike!
The "starting" point for Annapolis Rock is at the parking lot. Walk opposite the lot's entrance and you'll come across an information board at the entrance of the trail.
There are no signs saying you can't. Respect the lot and don't leave trash behind and I assume it would be ok.
Yes, the trail is wide and has a decent incline if you choose to head northbound (towards the Annapolis Rock/Black Rock cliffs). Just make sure you bring a leash or you dog is well trained to stay close when your party is around others for the trail is frequented by many, especially on the weekends.
