They installed my system a few years ago, and they have the worst customer service ever. I have called every day for the last week because my network is down, I can use my TVs or remotes, many of my light switches don’t work. I keep being promised someone will help me the next day, but no one ever calls.

Around summer 2012, after several years of our extensive Crestron smart home system not functioning properly and having used 2 different local companies, we contacted FulTech to see if they could get things working properly. FulTech came out, assessed our system and gave us a quote on labor, programming and parts needed to get our system working and up to par. Within a few short weeks after that, our system was reprogrammed, repaired and working properly. Since that time, we have had no problems or issues we have made several additional improvements, like adding a FulTech alarm system, and several upgrades to the system and FulTech has made these transitions simple and easy each time. Most recently, we added a new patio and closet area, and FulTech installed a new waterproof TV, speakers, and audio system for these areas, integrating them seamlessly with the existing system. We utilize FulTech's maintenance and service plans to keep our system running smoothly and consistently. We have since had them install an extensive system in my mother's house and my brother has added a similar system to his existing home. After 7 or more years of using FulTech, we are very happy with their capabilities, workmanship and response time and plant to continue to use them going forward. They are a pleasure to work with and get things done.

Use These Guys!! Professional, incredibly skilled, competitively priced, on-time, great follow-up….that’s a good start for how I feel about the entire crew at FulTech Solutions. Whether you’re just having cables run, or you have an extensive home automation system, you will thank yourself for years to come that you picked FulTech. I started my home construction in 2012, using a different Jacksonville based company, for a complete Crestron controlled home – all lighting, multi-zone HVAC, distributed HD video, multi-room audio, programmable remotes and portable touch screens, pool control, door control, pretty much everything you can think of was part of the home automation package. To protect the guilty, we’ll call the company I first used, “Company-A”. Six months into construction, it became clear that Company-A couldn’t “cut the mustard” with delivering a totally programmed and functional Smart Home. I then contracted with “Company-B” out of Orlando. By all outward appearances, Company-B looked qualified to complete the entire job. However, after eight solid months of programming and reprogramming, the owners of Company-B filed for bankruptcy and closed up shop, all in one weekend. Talk about being hung out to dry! Very fortunate to me, this story has a happy ending…..I found FulTech Solutions! In short order, they completed a full system discovery, identified company “A & B’s” errors and omissions, and delivered a finished system, all in less than one week! As thrilled as I am with FulTech, let me define it in a different way – my wife even loves them! She hated “A & B”, felt swindled, lied to, left adrift, by both of them. Now she’s almost as excited as I am when she sees the FulTech van pull up. I am a life-long FulTech customer now! Again, Use These Guys!

What is the difference between a "cloud" connected or based system and a stand-alone or local control, in a smart home?

Dan Fulmer | Oct 29, 2019

Cloud based control typically meand the device you are installing must have an internet connection and connects to its server via the internet. These systems are usually lower cost, as you dont need a controller, but they typically lack full integration with other devices and systems, though this is changing. The biggest caveat is that when you lose internet, or even Wifi in some cases, you lose either some or all control of those devices. With a local control based system, it works the same whether connected to the internet or not. When connected it can be controlled remotely and via apps. These systems also usually employ 1 main app to control all subsystems and devices. So you dont have 1 app for the door lock, 1 for the garage, another for lights and another for hvac, as with many cloud based systems.

How much does a smart home cost?

Dan Fulmer | Oct 29, 2019
Fultech Solutions, Inc | Oct 29, 2019

The term "smart home" is very broad and can encompass a variety of things. From audio and video distribution to HVAC, lighting, security, CCTV, drapes and shades to tv lifts and motorized doors, you can automate and control just about anything today. For a basic DIY type systems, such as Ring and Nest , you can spend as little as a few hundred bucks, for a door cam and thermostat, but for more reliable, long lived and robust systems you'll pay a bit more but its usually worth it. For one, with a higher end, professional system, you typically will have 1 app to control everything vs multiple apps for DIY or starter systems. $1-2/sq foot is industry avg for a well prewired home, and then you can add from $1000 to $100,000 or more to your system depending on how much, how many and the quality of components you install.
