The sound is terrible. A premier club experience is desperately needed in Albuquerque. Which would entail a high end sound system. If Effex is gonna get talented DJs here from across the pond or the country ownership should provide a proper auditory experience both for the artist and listener. Gigantic floor speakers aren’t gonna cut it. Hire some professionals to set it up in the properly.

The male bartender on the first floor was very rude we waited 40 minutes to get our drinks and he demanded that he get a tip after. It was our first drink of the night. We only went to see the drag queen perform.

Bartender took 30 minutes to get to use after taking all of his friends orders. People that were in line after us and the Bartender had us kicked out for being annoyed. He then lied to the security and got us kicked out. He was very arrogant and rude.

Great club. I love it here. I will say, sometimes the visiting DJs are really terrible, but not every night can have the best music right?
So,...you close at 2am, but you stop letting ppl in at like,...what,...1am or 12:30am or something now? & since when? Cuz I'm a local who has always been an enthusiastic regular & lately I've been turned away! I swear it wasn't always like that!
People! It doesn't matter. What people decided to say or do! Because it matters to you, does not mean it matters to others! Heath Ledger went to club Skunk!
Saturdays nights you can enjoy 3 floors of different electronic music, variety of public (mostly gay) and variety of drinks, but I think is the best downtown club maybe the only one with that kind of music.
