Charged my daughter $15 for a $4 hacky sack. I went in, saw the basket of hacky sacs clearly marked $4. They refused to give me a refund, instead gave me an $11 gift card… and it took them 10+ minutes to figure out how to make a gift card..

A bit more honesty here abt some staff's hostility toward customers would help.

I told the staff, "coming into their shop is almost like visiting the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, only you can walk out with whatever you like - providing it's paid for!"

How about parking?

The best solution to the parking problem is to take Metro. Takoma Station is only a block from S & A Beads. There is also a metered parking lot at the Metro station. There is a close by 2 hour lot on Maple Avenue and a paid lot on Laurel Avenue nearby and one on Carroll Avenue. Street parking moves fast. Usually spots open up to the vigilant. However this month and next Pepco is digging up the street so street parking is very tight until about 3:30 PM, when the crews cover the trenches and go home for the night. Good luck. What are the Covid safety practices like here?

Multipronged Approach. First we leave the doors open as much as possible. We do as much business on the sidewalk as we can. 2. We have air purifiers in the shop. 3. Staff and customers must wear masks and gloves, which we supply. 4. We limit the number of customers in the shop to one of two. 5. We clean the shop and the merchandise frequently. 6. We encourage staff to get vaccines as soon as they qualify. 6. Prayer is encouraged.
