Great question. Screening is where we abrade or scuff up the hardwood floor to remove the old finish and to prepare it for a new coat of finish. This process removes light scratches and smooths the floors, it also adds protection to the floors which will extend the life of the floors and prevent the need for a full sand and refinishing.

The screen and recoat process can take as long as a day with two coats being applied to the floors. The size of the area being recoated and whether or not there is a presence of wax and polishes on the floor can extend this timeframe.

The method we use for carpet cleaning is hot water extraction method and is the recommended cleaning method of carpet manufacturer’s to deep clean your carpets.

For homes with very high traffic and pets it can add more protection to the floors and extend the life of the floors and delay the need for a complete sand and refinishing.
