The cardiology department is run terribly. I have sent messages to the Doctor and they go unanswered for days to weeks at a time. The read receipts are on so you know someone looked at the message. A test I had indicated I may have had a heart attack.I sent a message on a Sunday morning. My message was read on Sunday night. I received a message Wednesday that the Dr was on vacation only after I called everyday. I then had to wait another week for a phone call about my test. My PCP is at northwestern medicine and she is FABULOUS as is her staff in internal medicine. I have my mammogram there. I have used the pulmonary dept, the neurologist, histology-the list goes on and on-all great experiences. We all know part of the problem is corporate medicine. But at the end of the day it falls on the people in the department-doctors, nurses, staff. It’s been very disappointing. My cardiologist is great when you actually see her but everything else I have dealt with has led me to start shopping for a new doctor.

Update from 09/22/2022 Still many issues. A big problem they have is they are quick to transfer you to another department before you even finish talking, and they don't even ask you if it's okay to transfer you to another department. Very rude people at the front desk. They don't know how to properly submit a claim to the health insurance and also don't know how to make the claim for the proper billing date. A bill since April is still pending payment in September. Bluhm CI is in network but they can't figure it out how to make a claim and mail it to the right address that I provided. Been through 8 calls so far and over 8 hours wasted for nothing in the past 5 months. 2020 Update First Dr. Wasn't available for 3 weeks. Tried to get my medical records out in 3 different methods but they still didn't get them. I had to cancel. They set me up with another Dr. 3 weeks later they call me the day before to cancel. Clinic calls me back saying Dr. had an emergency and they don't have all medical records for my visit. I've called and left multiple messages and no one gets back after 1 week of calling. I've signed release forms for BCVI and from my regular clinic as well as mailed and emailed cd's and copies of my cardiology reports. Yet no one can confirm that all information has been received before my upcoming appointment. Kind of unprofessional that no one answers their messages or gets back to the patient. Tired of spending personal time and losing work hours going back and forth with health clinics that don't do their part or people who don't do their jobs and follow up with the patient.

They maybe good Dr’s, but when your not well and have been short of breath for months and the soonest the specialty dr can see you is in 4 months is a joke. I have an appointment on Monday that I made in the beginning of November . This is uncalled for

Bluhm cariology is a terribly managed organization. The next available appointment they could offer with any doctor was 10 months.... I called advocate and they had an apt with a specialist within 5 days.
