We made reservations. Adults are $20. Kids 6 and under age 10. We arrived early and the staff greeted us and had water available. We took the walk around the castle and was able to see his dog Finn. We had to start later because a group didn’t show up in time. He is very old school and soft spoken so you have to listen and keep the kids in check. You do a tour your self at your own pace. The staff was wonderland friendly. The kids has a great time. You try to find 13 dragon on a scavenger hunt. I did find it weird to see him sleeping in his bed while we were all there. The lunches are a great touch. Sandwiches chips donut and drink.

Cool concept but the amount of schools allowed at once was way too much. We sat outside of the Castle for a long time trying to listen to the King talk, but without a microphone it was too hard to hear with the amount of people there. Would not recommend a parent of toddlers or younger with older kids going alone as the railings are not fall proof without constant attention paid to your child. That was very hard to do with my three littles and the number of kids there from all the schools at once. Definitely an accident just waiting to happen. Cool concept but needs better safety railings and much smaller school tours allowed.

Make reservations at Newman's Bakery about two blocks south of the square
I'm pretty sure he has in the past. They've done murder mystery parties and held festivals there. The only place I could see a wedding happening is at the draw bridge, but it wouldn't accommodate a huge guest list.
When I was there the owner had a very large but friendly dog his own, so if they do confirm you can bring your pooch keep in mind that they may encounter the one another.

For photo shoots that take place before the hours that tours are available they made me book in advanced and confirm how many people were coming the day before scheduled photo shoot.

John is correct. The man who owns the castle lives in it as his home. He also owns the bakery and is a baker. You can stay in hotels near the castle though, most areas are safe and nice.
