Astound's financial department didn’t provide me with invoices for my account for the months of August, September, and October with the amount of money they were charging me. Instead, they increased my bill and wanted me to pay extra money for unclear financial practices. This company lacks transparency. I called customer service several times and spoke face-to-face with someone at their office in Allentown, Pennsylvania. They repeated that someone from their financial department will contact me to clarify the issue, but nobody called me. On October 26, 2022, I disconnected their service. The FTC protects customers, and I highly suggest to report your case if you have been a victim of Astound.

I can hardly get anyone And today they took $45 out of acct I pd them Oct 1 $20 which is what it's been with that govt program. So if they see this I need an answer And I bought my own router/modem when grandson gets here I will have him set it up. And yes price hikes ugh

Most likely it's the in home cabling. Rcn has been very solid since hurricane Sandy
Horrible WiFi for months, rebooted their equipment daily. Just called and was told, by recording to call back later. If anybody has switched cattier I would like to hear how it went.

No, they don't. They only service LHV and parts of Coopersburg
Is it normal that when you call you either get a busy signal, or they say they are transferring you to an agent, and then you get a busy signal and have to hang up and start over.

Last time I called I spoke to someone within a couple minutes. I called customer service thru the automated system to upgrade my service. I suggest calling at non peak hours like first thing in the morning.

It depends. Most often the issue/problem is on their end. A call to technical support can usually track down and fix the issue. In rare cases it could be something with line coming from your home. Best thing to do is give em a call. 9/10 times they can fix it and service is restored.
Verizon just paid me $300 to leave RCN. I had 150MBPS at RCN and rented a router. $78 per month. I now have 1GIG service for $79 and again, THEY PAID ME. Just leave RCN. Garbage.
Yes rcn is a cable company that goes anywhere in PA. it's the dish networks you have to worry about where they do and dont serve. I been all around PA from the mountains to the valley over the years and not once did rcn say they dont do service there. Just give them a call and schedule for them to come out to your home and hook everything you want up I dont see them saying no

Don't work for RCN Mr NASTY. This is a peer-to-peer Network. You know customer to customer. The telephone number to RCN is on your bill complain to them.
If they put the internet on the 11th of a month, the next month they will charge you on the 2nd of the following month, is that fair? What happened to the previous days?

The people that work at the RCN do not for most part don't access these question bases.
I pay for just internet 50 Mbps for $79.00 a month I think it’s too much and I’m not even sure what speed I need I work from home with a computer desk top (thin client) I have firesticks in 3 TVs and a playstation that is being used mostly all day, 4 phones are connected via WiFi when @ home. How can we lower this bill?? Any suggestions...thanks in advance

It's the network surcharges that change monthly, the content providers demand more and more money from the cable companies each month, simple way to explain this is , provider A adds a new show on a low watched channel ( let's say channel 519 ) and that new show becomes a HUGE hit , the viewership on ( Channel 519 ) now explodes, Provider A now demands ( EXTORTS ) the cable companies for more money for that channel. IT HAPPENS TO ALL CABLE COMPANIES, not just RCN , I hope this helps.

Do a Google search "RCN lehigh valley internet outage" or something close to that and you'll find RCNs page of live outage reports. You will never again have to wonder if the problem is in your end or if its systemic.
Thanks all. I did the Google search first and it said there were no outages in my area. Then I sent the question out to see if anyone else was having issues. Then about 2 hours later RCN trucks showed up in the neighborhood and there was an outage that took a couple hours to fix. Thanks everyone for responding with ideas. I appreciate it.
You can Google 'RCN Lehigh Valley cable outage' and read about reported outages that occur in different areas. It's a handy way to find out if problem is inside or out there somewhere
I was back up last night. Reset the modem and router and if your using a firestick it roku you may need to power thst down to. I had to power 1 of my 3 down to get it ti Connect
Many shows for younger children on my plan, none of which my older teenagers watch. But there are many programs no one watches. Am I paying too much(& for unnecessary programs). Hmmm...
My TV & TiVo is fine in Northampton!! Call Tech Support they're fantastic. If I have a problem they always fix it. I've never had a service call in decades!! Get past Automated to Tech Support. They're 24/7
We have internet, 2 DVR's, 4 cable boxes, phone. Cost goes up EVERY month. I am now paying $309 plus!!! I can't keep them much longer.....WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!! AND why do so many pay such different amounts???

Promotions, each promotion discounts from actual retail value. With the rising costs of the networks that causing your bill to increase. Please call customer service and have them lower your bill. The cost doesn't go up every month. That depends on fees, monthly services are good for a year..I would def call. Open 24 hours 7 days a week
When I delete a program from Tivo I hear a loud squealling noise. Once I confirm and delete program it goes away. Is there a way that that noise will not come up?

You can actually turn off the sounds on your tivo. In settings go to audio & video settings select sound effect volume . Low medium high or off..
Absolute bring it in to your local office and they will replace it at no charge. If one is not close to you, just call 800RINGRCN and they will ship one to you.
It could be the possibility of not enough band with depending on how many divices you connect to at once. Give RCN a call and I'm sure they will be able to help solve the problem.
You can move your cable box to other rooms if the room has a cable jack and the jack has been activated physically by RCN. If you call them, they will walk you through the process.
Switch to Service Electric if you can, we been there with RCN. Service Electric has more reliable service with the plus of saving money. Do the switch if you can.
Over priced bad services on both Internet and cable . Oh and for some odd reason when you are trying to get customer service you can never find anybody live to answer your calls. But after you go to the office and return your equipments next day they start blowing up your phone with calls trying to get you to go back with offers that really don't benefit the consumers
