I want to provide my experience with The Monarch and my wife of 56 years who began losing her memory a couple of years ago. By Jan. of this year I realized I could not continue to care for her and began a search for a memory care facility through "A Place for Mom". I looked at several but "The Monarch at Richardson" stood out as the best I visited. Once I decided to move her to The Monarch, and she was checked by a doctor and cleared, Liza Democritou (Monarch Director of Community Relations) and I began making arrangements for her to move. So the day in late Feb. that the big freeze was starting, the folks at the Monarch came to my home in their bus and took my wife to their place right as the snow began. They allowed her to stay in a temporary room before I could move her furniture to a permanent room. The staff were so supportive in their care of my wife that when the weather cleared and I could visit her I was amazed at how well she was doing! I feel there was a divine intervention that provided me with The Monarch to give my wife back a life where she is happy, cared for, and loved by all the staff there. She continues to do well and I get to visit her several times each week.

One of the better places around. Not too flashy with a down home feel. My father-in-law didn't like the glitzy places, so he settled here. Really likes the professional people but the comfort level is what sold him. Everyone seems to try hard to make it all work.
