This trail is better than most hikes inside RMNP. Beautiful views from the top and the lookout about 1/3 the way up. The meadows at the bottom are postcard worthy. The payoff at the top are some amazing 360° views. Gets a bit more challenging at the last 100 yards, including a scramble to get through a narrow ascent. But totally worth it. My 12yo and 8yo kids were able to do it with some motivation and several water breaks.

Great little hike with amazing views. Not nearly as crowded as the RMNP trails. Dogs allowed on leash. Requires $9 entry fee to Hermit rec area.

Last third of the hike takes it to a moderate level of difficulty. Worth it. Great hike for the day you couldn't get an entry time for RMNP.

Definitely kid friendly if they have about 2 hours stamina. I took my 13, 11, and 6 yo the mothers day. They killed it!
