South Grand Island Bridge

If your scared of bridges or the heights than this is a scary one but it's a must if you want to get to Niagara Falls quick as it's the quickest route. The view though is worth it. I'm just letting you all know the bridge to get on and off of Grand Island is a little scary and I believe they are working on it to make it better. It's also a Toll Bridge so make sure you have money for the tolls. Photos will be coming soon.

I have driven over this bridge a number of times, but this was the first time I was ever on the pedestrian walkway. For driving, traffic is usually good on the bridge unless someone breaks down. The view is great, being able to see the buildings of both Niagara Falls and Buffalo, as well as a long the Niagara River. The pedestrian walkway is only open on the Eastern Bridge, and is accessed on the south side from the bike trail (that has a parking area just to the west of the bridges), and is the end of the bike path leading to Beaver Island State Park on the North. The path is pretty narrow overall, but gets down to one lane when you get to the area with the girders. Luckily, one can duck in the spaces between the girders to let people pass.
