I went in the morning and the line wasn’t long just a couple trucks ahead of me at this time. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It was simple and straight forward and I was in and out with no problems.

Incredibly slow and inefficient process to get vehicles in and out of the gate processing of vehicles through the gate. There are much better ways to do this folks!

If you live in Garland you can dump twice for free. But you have to obtain a card from the city. Other than that you can go there and dump, just have to pay a fee calculated by weight.
Garland residents must provide proof of residency to offload for free - current driver’s license and recent City utility bill.
Absolutely, Kiona! There will be a fee based on the weight of the material you are offloading.
Hi Jennifer, mattresses in good usable condition can be donated to organizations such as BedStart: http://bedstart.org/schedule-a-pickup/ - they pick up for free from your home. Garland residents may place mattresses that are torn or have stains which cannot be removed with bleach out for brush and bulky pickup at no additional charge.
As many as you want. I go 2-3 times daily.
Yes.
Yes, you can. You will be charged based on the weight of the material offloaded.
saulcarranza22 and Chris Poetschke are correct, Scott Masten. Railroad ties may be offloaded per the same procedure as other trash. Please bring your proof of Garland residency and check in with the scale house at the front entrance of the landfill.
Hi Alyssa, thank you for your question. Bags of dirt may be dropped off at Hinton Landfill. Take dirt to the working face of the landfill (dirt is not accepted at the Citizens' Convenience Center).
Yes, you may. Fees are based on the weight of the material you offload - you check in with the scale and weigh your vehicle upon arrival and then when exiting so you can be charged accordingly.
Hello, tires, whether quartered or whole are not accepted at the Hinton Landfill. We suggest you contact your local tire shop to inquire about proper disposal.
I'm not sure but less than 50 according to weight
They have convince dumping, into metal dumpsters
I believe you just need your vehicle's plate # and a card for payment. You weigh in and out on your first time.
Mr. Chacon, the Hinton landfill does not offer any unloading services. Please call (972)205-3670 for more information about dumping at our landfill.
Yes ma'am! Anyone in the region can use the Landfill. There is a fee to dispose depending on how much you throw away. Please visit http://www.garlandtx.gov/3673/Hinton-Landfill for more information on we do and do not accept at the Landfill and what to expect during your visit. See you soon!
Hi Serenity, It would depend on what the contamination is - a chemical or asbestos. Please give us a call: 972-205-3670 and ask for the regulatory compliance specialist.
Hi Sergio, yes, you can bring shingles our way. Here is a list of items we cannot accept: http://garlandews.com/3679/Prohibited-Materials, but as Oscar mentioned we take most things that need to be discarded.
I think dumping brush is free for all.
Yes, William.
Yes, you may.
$35.00 a ton if you have a dump trailer $45.00 if its regular trailer. If it's from your home you would need to provide an electric bill and your ID and there is no charge.
Yes you can dump for free as a Garland resident but if you are a private contractor you have to pay not sure on price

Howdy Goldman Briggs, yes, you can bring them to Hinton Landfill. However, if the radio and speakers are working please consider dropping them off at a local charitable organization or thrift store. Goodwill will likely even take them if they are not working as they have staff who repair items before selling them in their stores.
There's a minimum charge of ten dollars and 55.00 per ton. If you don't have a tarp you will have to but one at the entrance.
Thank you for your question, RLB31094. Kyle is right - we do our best to make offloading material at Hinton Landfill quick and easy. Please follow instructions of the landfill attendant and staff to help ensure safety when backing up.
You can bring your license or a city utility bill as proof that you live in the city.
Yes ...but if you take it to living earth in Plano you can dump for free
Hi RusselL, you are correct - Garland residents show proof of residency. Rowlett residents present a pass to scale house staff before offloading material.
Yes, Julie, the Hinton Landfill accepts shingles for disposal.
Yes
Hi Adela, yes, we do accept roofing material. Please make sure your load is tarped. Roofing has to go to the dump site of the landfill (not accepted at the Citizens' Convenience Center).
Hi Andy, yes, grass is accepted at the Hinton Landfill.
Hi Charity, in order to off-load the material for free at the Hinton Landfill you or another Garland resident would need to accompany your friend and provide proof of residency at the scale house.
Good questions, Peggy. There is no fee for Garland residents to use the Hinton Landfill. We do not accept concrete. Clean concrete may be taken to 3637 Castle Drive, Garland, TX | ph 972-414-4542. Metal fencing (without concrete) may be placed in the metal recycling container at the Citizens' Convenience Center at the landfill or taken directly to a metal recycler.
Hi Ivan and Kristen, the minimum charge is $10 for loads weighing under 380 lbs. The charge is based on the weight.
Great question, Mark! You may bring your tree limbs to our site and if they are not mixed in with any other trash, the clean brush can be dropped off at the Wood Recycling Facility inside the Hinton Landfill. Cost varies based on vehicle type: Automatic dump vehicles/trailers $35.00 per ton. Non-automatic vehicles (unloading by hand) $52.50 per ton. (If less than a ton prorated) Minimum Fee $10.00
Hi Ossie - great question! Yes, please take them to the wood recycling facility located inside the Hinton Landfill after checking in at the scales.
