Food was not always warm or according to menu submitted by patients. Laundry services loose garments due to unidentifying garments when picked up from patients rooms. Some nurses had terrible bedside manners. You almost had to beg on your knees for something to drink instead of decaf coffee with each meal. Very few socializing activities except for bingo. It does not deserve the amount insurances pay them for our care.

I will start at the top jonathon the director has been very welcoming and available and the nursing staff has been excellent beginning at the top with chris and cathy and then the nurses who take care of me daily diana and megan are the best. love them. The aids who are awesome sara angie and linda during the day and winsome esther amber and james at night they do the dirty work and they do it very good. Last but not least and very important for helping me in my recovery process are the therapist Lisa Debbie and my favorite Stella all help me a whole lot and give me the feeling that i will recover successfully. I almost forgot the ladies who take me to activities sara who is awesome and karen who is awesome

My husband, Richard had a stroke in 2015. He became increasingly harder for me to care for him. His daughter placed him close to her. The nursing establishment was environmentally depressing and professionally unacceptable. He named it the hell hole. When I could accept more responsibilities I brought him back home. After several years it became an increasing burden with his dementia setting in. ProMedica Laureldale had one bed available. Hearing good things about them from my friends, I jumped for the opportunity and never regretted my decision. The staff became family and he called it home. They were always friendly, supportive, helpful and gracious. Also a happy teamwork amongst themselves. I never overheard bickering or complaining. The staff loved to get him to tell jokes, especially puns, and sometimes sing. His room was sunny and spacious enough for two bedridden gentlemen. More than adequate storage space for his personal belongings and items. His room was always tidy as could be expected and available during visiting hours. Every room had adjustable heat controls. I never had problems with ruined laundry or pilferage. His food was overly adequate for his limited appetite. I realized that caring for patients and residents with a wide range of maladies and ethnic base, there will always be someone looking to find fault. Personal experience later, I always found the meat or fish always tender, flavorful and moist. The veggies cooked just right, and nothing deep fried. Certain items were more delicious than I could buy at a farmers market. Anytime patients wanted extras or a snack, ice cream or beverages it was supplied. Kitchen meal food always available 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and just an in-house phone call away. Since I was so impressed with ProMedica Laureldale for my husband, I chose them for my own recent surgery and rehabilitation program. Now I can also include my satisfaction with the additional experiences above. The occupational therapists and physical therapists are all knowledgeable professionals and instructors. They taught me so much on how to adapt to my age-related limitations, and experiences for a successful post-surgery healing process. I was shown and used various health aide devices and ordered and received what I needed and was comfortably using. My own safety and ease for Independent living was their ultimate priority. Their gyms are specialized and well-equipped. It surprised me how big and sunny they were. Under the therapist's guidance, my progress was really a pleasure. They were appreciative that I had the motivation. Respect returns respect. You get out of life what you put into it. My unique dietary and environmental allergies were addressed ongoing as they arose by the nurses and administrator Jonathon Hykes. He personally bought me specific food. Our semi-holistic approach to some lesser rising problems reduced potential pill additive allergies. My appreciation and gratitude are very deeply felt. The hospital beds are the most comfortable and Berks county. The activity programs and staff is a pleasure. The building and grounds are beautifully maintained. In conclusion with my experience I would recommend for ProMedica Laureldale without any hesitation.
