Having lived in Chicago for twenty years, I was used to very busy post offices with overwhelmed and exhausted employees. What a lovely change of pace it’s been to live in Niles and have access to this post office the past ten years. I’ve never encountered a line and the employees are always courteous and efficient with no attitude issues. I’m disappointed to see so many negative reviews and shocked at the vitriol some of these reviewers feel towards employees.

I was there to get passport for myself and two small children and the service was exceptional. Despite being busy, they made the process quick and easy.

Suburbs are better than most Chicago post offices.

We have not received any mail at my home or at work for the past two days. I’ve been watching for my tax bill or any other tax papers. I am informed every day what mail and packages that are coming. WHATS GOING ON!!!!

You can bring your own pictures or your pictures can be taken at the post office for a fee.
Yes, but there are certain hours only. You can call them to ask.
It can't hurt to get an appointment. On certain days and times, there could be a considerable wait time to have someone review your paperwork. I went with my infant son on a Saturday without an appointment. Big mistake. We left, made an appointment, and came back another day.
The post office is closed MLK day is a federal holiday.

Yes you can long as it's before 12 if not you have to go to Norwood Pk
It now gets dark earlier then what it was at first so they have to deliver all that mail
No appointment needed.
The picture is taken at the post office and included with the price of the passport
