At the school, I ended up spending the majority of my childhood years here. I grew as the church did. The real estate remains here, but the heart and soul of the congregation has been gambled away, and scattered, foolishly. Maybe this situation would be easier to accept if it was due to a deliberate decision to relocate, or because of a war or natural disaster, but it offended me that the sacrifices many of our ancestors made to help build this place were ultimately treated so lightly. It felt disrespectful to all of their memories. I expect I will, in time, forgive whomever the responsible parties are, but I doubt any replacement church will be able to fill the vacuum created by loosing this place. I understand that it is, after all, only a building, but still......
