I really enjoy Brannan Island and I go tent camping there quite often. I find the $30+/ night tent camping fee a bit pricey but I am always glad to stay as they have the most wonderful camp hosts who seem to take great pleasure in going above and beyond to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of their campers. I can not begin to thank Ozzy and his Beautiful Wife enough for all the kindness they showed me when I needed it most. And "Tex", you sure know how to add color to the day... Thank you all!

I was concerned reading reviews about staff being rude and I had similar experience. Entrance person was OK but few others were pretty grumpy and refuse to listen to anything. But other than that, it's a great place for camping. Beach is good to play but the entrance is not that wide. Restrooms at campground were OK. Clean in the morning and dirty by noon (blame the campers for peeing on the toilet floor). It's windy most part of the day and night. Nail down your tent with big stakes to be safe. Light jackets with hoodie or a beanie helps. Most sites have good amount of shade. Saw a California King snake close to camp but in the bushes. There are gophers/groundhogs everywhere and also be aware of the giant red ant nests.

The boat ramp is AWESOME!! I would launch my boat with my class A motor home here. Extremely wide ramp, with many lanes!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did NOT camp here, we were day boating.
