This was such an enjoyable family trip. We spent a little over 3 hours walking at a toddler pace and reading the signs. The informational signs are done really well with lots of information about the species and a the background of the specific animal. It was hot, but lots of shade. The picnic area was fully shaded and the tables were all kept really clean. The kid area was lots of fun and creatively put together. Best of all, the animals here seemed happy and well cared for. 100% worth the drive out from ABQ.

The animals are all local species that were injured or otherwise non-releaseable. You can get great views of them. The property is spread out and you get to walk trails through the pinyon-juniper woodland. Very peaceful, not crowded, a wonderful time. The owner and people who work there are very nice. They also host festivals. Just went to the Renaissance Celtic fest there. You can't view the animals during, but it's a great setting for a fair.

Much better than the ABQ Zoo. Most of These animals were rescued from private owners so the coyotes, bobcats, mule deer, elk and ravens approached us and we got to have a close up look. We went last summer and this winter and both times it was so much fun! The only difference is that in the winter, the black bear was hibernating. However, all the other animals were there and had many had beautiful winter coats. I will come back again!

We visited this animal rescue park in Edgewood for the first time today. We were pleasantly surprised that it was so nice! There’s plenty of parking, no big crowds, and the price for admission wasn’t bad at all, $18 for two adults and a toddler under 2. There’s a concrete trail throughout the park, so pushing a stroller was easy. The animals are very well taken care of and the park is clean. Some of the exhibits were empty, but we were able to get very close to the animals that were there. We enjoyed seeing the elk, bear, and mountain lions! With a little one, it took us about 2 hours to go through the park, and our grand baby got to enjoy a little children’s play area. Don’t miss out on this if you’re in the Edgewood area..oh by the way, they also have a cute little gift shop with a few snacks and drinks.
