Highly recommend. All correspondence was timely and professional. Testing was very comprehensive. Final assessment was delivered punctually and was very in depth and helpful. Stacey Dihel was very friendly and understanding. Overall this was a very positive experience that helped us better understand our child’s learning difficulties. We are very happy with our decision to use Texas Center for Education and would recommend to everyone.

We had a very positive experience using TxCET. They did a very thorough report that was helpful to us and accepted by our school district.

The people of TCET are absolutely wonderful. As a junior in college I sought out educational testing, due to difficulties, and the folks here guided me through the whole process and put forth the care I needed. Thank you!

Amazing! My family is beyond thankful to Mona White and her practice! She is thorough. We had extensive diagnostic evals done at our school, but knew something was missing. We opted to get an independent educational evaluation and she was able to detect several major learning disabilities and bring to our attention a possible vision insufficiency- which turned out to be more severe but correctable once we met with a vision therapist. Advocating for your child and finding the right resources can be so challenging, but to know we have experts like Mona White and her staff available to us is a Godsend! Also for those going to college and wondering what they want to do as a career for the rest of their life should be meet with Mona to do a strong Interest Inventory to help guide you to make better aligned career choices. I did this after being in a professional career for over 15 years and was struggling to know what career would be a better fit with my passions, interests and working styles.

Questions & Answers

Do you do dyslexia testing for kids going into college and/or adults? Also, what are your prices compared to other similar places in the DFW area?

Yes we do! We test all ages! -It is also important to note that students who have a diagnosis and are heading off to college need updated testing in order to receive accommodations on the SAT/ACT and in the college classroom. Most require testing to be no more than 3 years old to be valid. -When you check prices you will see we will be one of the most affordable! Most testing sites charge $1100-$3000! At Texas Center for Educational Testing, our Full Dyslexia Evaluation includes a comprehensive evaluation of the major areas of cognition, evaluation of all the areas of basic reading, reading fluency, reading comprehension, spelling, and writing , which includes the primary characteristics of dyslexia, underlying causes of dyslexia, and secondary characteristics of dyslexia. All of this, including the report, is only $750. 25% of all Dyslexic students tend to also struggle with ADHD, so if you want to add this evaluation in, it is only $75 Contact us at 940-209-0010!

How is your testing for dyslexia different than the testing the public school does?

This really depends on the district; however, most districts do not have certified diagnosticians conducting a full evaluation of the student referred, but have a teacher evaluate some aspects of reading, phonics, and possibly writing. . The difficulties associated with dyslexia typically result from a deficit in the phonological component of language that is often unexpected in relation to other cognitive abilities. It is important to know the student's cognitive abilities in order to know if the weaknesses found are indeed unexpected. The evaulation you receive through TxCET includes a thorough evaluation of all seven areas of cognition as well as all of the primary characteristics of dyslexia, underlying causes of dyslexia, and secondary characteristics of dyslexia. Additionally, this evaluation will be done in a timely manner, whereas many school districts only evaluate twice a year.
