I've been here a over a dozen times and I've never had the experience that I had yesterday.. I went out with a friend who is from Eritrea. We stopped by to grab a quick drink. As soon as we as arrived, some random lady who must have recognized him started being very belligerent with him and calling him all types of names. We end up going to the other side of the bar to sit down. He ordered himself a beer I on the other hand didn't want any alcohol beverage so I decided to get bottled water however they didn't have that so I didn't have anything but nonetheless that was fine. What I don't understand is that while me and my friend was there and he was being harassed by the woman, not too much or sad we just sort of ignored her and moved on however I didn't notice as me and my friend were speaking privately and laughing amongst ourselves that the two women who were working there seem to be surprised when me and him seem to have gotten closer and we're speaking between ourselves privately I can immediately see that she looked shocked and then she gestured to the other young lady whom she was working with to turn around and look at me but by the time the other lady did look me him had separated and was laughing amongst ourselves about something. Prior to all of this I asked one of the ladies once she had a moment I would like to place an order to go lo and behold needless to say she never stopped to get my order or to see if I wanted or needed anything else. Out of all the times I've dying here I've never experienced anything like that I guess it depends on the company that you keep. It's 2022 it shouldn't matter if an a retrained man walks into an establishment with an African-American woman you can always jump to conclusions and it's okay to be friends with people from the same race but what's culturally raised differently that is how we learn from each other and be united. There shouldn't be such a cultural divide especially with people of the same ethnic background. So for those two women that work there I will tell you it's really disrespectful and less becoming of women of color to discriminate against anyone that is pure ignorance.

The food looks great but is served ice cold. We were hungry and was disappointed with the service. Definitely not going to come back here for sure. The red curry in the dish is so dried out a dry layer is formed on top of it. Totally not fare for the price you pay

I brought a friend to try the chicken and rice I had last time and I was a bit disappointed. The chicken was dry and it didn’t have all the ingredients that it had last time I was there some days ago. I showed the photo of the last chicken and rice to the server and asked, “Is this the same thing?” She responded, “Yes, except this one is not fully made.” Long story short, ensure your know who is in the kitchen as it is made by different people. My friend wasn’t impressed with the dried chicken and plain rice and I wasn’t either. There needs to be consistency of how the food is made as I brought my friend specifically because of my last great experience. I ordered the beef tibs and that was felt and flavorful. I just wish the rice and chicken was the same as last time. Customer service was not horrible, it was just the food quality that was a little disappointing.

Dined in today at this cozy spot on Snelling at the first block north of University. Today was a blessing! The neighbor to the north was not open, so we defaulted to here. I ordered the vegetarian plate and the vegetable sambusa. My friend had the chicken. Everything was wonderful. Polite service, friendly and attentive enough to make sure we were covered and yet not too intrusive. Happy and delicious food. We allowed for about an hour and had plenty of time to catch up and enjoy our dining experience. Decor is homey and also bright.
