Love this campground with its spacious sites well-distanced from each other! So very very quiet and clean. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - especially the campground attendants. Everything about this place helped make our stay there relaxing. Thank you, Corps of Engineers, for another awesome campground!

Very pleased with the campground. Well kept and maintained. Great sites. Can't wait to go there again. Restroom and shower house was clean and heated. Highly recommend.

We love Cottonhill COE on Ft. Gaines, GA - spent this Thanksgiving 2021 there with wife and our friends. Our site was a pull through and handicapped accessible with a ramp from site to road and to the Bath house. We love Mr. Bobby & Mrs. Margaret they are both always so helpful.

Great great place. Fishing is good. Lots of deer roaming freely. Heated bathrooms and great showers. I recommend taking conditioner for your hair because the water from the showers are hard water. It makes your hair really hard to comb out.. π we had site 63 right by the water and our electric pump didn't work. We tent camped and thought we would have to move but no..they had someone come fix it. Yayy!

Yes, the restroom facilities are accessable. It's a Corp of Engineers facility, so is ADA compliant.
Not that I know of
Walmart is about 8 miles and other grocery stores are 6 to 7 miles.
There is also a grocery store about a mile up the road on left from above mentioned Dollar General.
The lake speaks for itself!!!
Georgetown or Ft Gaines
Yes. The regulations say, gates close at 10, but because so many people go fishing in the evening or early in the morning, the caretakers leave the gates open 24/7.

No.
We stayed there a few weeks ago. They were open .
3 pm. But if no one is on your spot that you reserved 7 a m.
No dock, depending on your site, most campers just beach them
For campers only, you must be staying the night in order to get a pass
I'm with straight talk, had a good signal.
The phone number for the campground is 229-768-3061. Check out time is 3:00 p. M..
Yes
Alligators stay mostly in the creeks and back water areas. They are not conditioned to see humans as a food source here. They avoid people. To the best of my knowledge the only incident occurring at the lake was up in the refuge when a researcher was messing about on a nest site and mom bit his arm. I wouldn't worry about swimming, especially in the designated swim area at Cotton Hill.
