I can not recommend them and would not do business with again. Quality of repair was poor and after repair and charging said door needed to be replaced. Door is held together with silicone caulk and is now very difficult to open.

I missed one call from the technician on his way to give me a quote. Mary from the office called me screaming at me. She said “ I don’t know why you can’t just pick up your phone. What’s so hard about that”. She then processed to call me a nasty person when I told her I was not going to be yelled at. The technician Ethan. Was wonderful. But unfortunately I didn’t have service done because Mary called me and told me she wouldn’t service me due to me asking her to stop yelling. I ended the phone call in total shock at how I was screamed at and berated for not answering my phone one time. Maybe the technician should leave a voicemail when they call as well. I won’t do business with a company that’s fine with screaming and swearing at potential customers. Mary. Shame on your lack of professionalism and basic human decency.

Currently, most Glass Doctor locations use urethane with a one-hour safe drive-away time from when the new windshield gets set. No need for blue tape or any holds on washing your car. You are fully protected at the 60-minute mark. Please be sure to check with your local Glass Doctor to ensure the type of urethane being used.

Can you cut tempered glass?

Glass Doctor of Traverse City | May 29, 2022

Unfortunately, tempered safety glass, by design, cannot be cut. It is designed to break into small pieces when cut or broken to reduce the risk of significant injuries to the person breaking it. Using safety glass, of which “tempered” is one type, is mandated by state building codes in specific applications like doors, sidelights, showers, etc. Please call Glass Doctor if you want more information on this topic.

Do you replace sliding door rollers?

Glass Doctor of Traverse City | May 29, 2022

Yes! We do replace rollers if needed. Of course, we try to clean the tracks and rollers and adjust first. If that does not work, we will discuss replacing the rollers for you.

Can you buff scratches out of glass?

Glass Doctor of Traverse City | May 29, 2022
Glass Doctor of Traverse City | May 29, 2022

Scratch removal in residential glass and light commercial applications is not a commercially viable solution. Basically, it is labor-intensive and not very successful. Furthermore, if the customer is not satisfied with the result, they are understandably not willing to pay for the time and materials invested by the glass company. Scratch removal and scratch buffing systems exist; however, they are typically only practical in warehouses, industrial, and on larger commercial glass projects. Please call our Glass Doctor office if you would like a more detailed explanation.
