Dr. Winkler has many degrees and many interests of a wide variety. He is also a very kind man. Unfortunately, he has a difficult time keeping his mind in the conversation. It took two visits (one was turned into an extended session) just to get through his questionnaire. He asked a question (do you practice any ethnic related traditions) and my answer (no, I’m 100% English) set him off on a 10 minute history lesson on Germany on my dime. I really wanted this to work which is why I went to my second appointment. I will not be returning because at the rate we’re moving along things will resolve themselves. My first appointment was extended because in his words he had “been talking too much” yet when I returned for my second appointment I was billed additional monetary time due to the extended session. Interestingly, I had read the last review in which a woman discussed insurance issues with the receptionist. Prior to my first appointment, and before my other two, insurance was discussed at length. I plan to look long and hard at my insurance EOB. The other issue I have with Goshawk Behavioral Services is that charges are settled before the appointment. I can’t imagine walking into a doctors office and paying the doctor before seeing him. Very odd. I question if their practice is having financial issues. I saw no other therapist on site during my visits, just a psychologist and his wife running the office. The days Dr. Winkler works are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. He apparently is semi-retired. He is in his 70’s.

I'm new to the area and called to schedule an appointment. The receptionist told me they book weeks out, which isn't out of the norm. However, my problem arose when I told her that I had changed insurances, my old is currently still active and my new plan would be active Feb. 1st. She refused to schedule me an appointment without my insurance cards in hand because, as she stated, they need to insure they fill spots so they get paid because that's how they keep the lights on. I was completely mortified professionals who are paid to care for the mentally ill care more about getting paid than healing people. I'm completely disgusted and wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Absolutely love Marsha, she makes it feel like you’re sitting and talking things out with a friend. The secretary on the other hand has been rude since the day I started going there. Just very snotty with rude and nasty comments. Otherwise would have given 5 stars🤷🏻‍♀️

When I started taking my family here, I gave them five stars. If I was only reviewing Marsha I would keep the five star rating. I changed my rating to three stars because the receptionist is the most rude, unprofessional person I have ever experienced at a business. She is going to put this place out of business.
