This park was fantastic! We were visiting friends and came to the park two days in a row. It was so clean and well kept. There wasn't any trash in or around the water. Public access to the river was easy and surprisingly, not crowded.

Great city park right on the river. Lots of pecan trees for shade and parking. Playground for kids. Ball fields, basketball court, covered gazebo for parties, city pool, and more that I probably forgot. The city allows 3 nights free camping if you're passing through (please don't abuse this courtesy offered by the city). November 1 thru December 31 is their Holiday Lights spectacle. Lots of the trees are trimmed in colored lights you can drive under or the kids can play under. See photos. EDITED 3-31-2022 Just spoke with Hoyt. RV's, car and van camping no longer allowed. Tent camping only, 3 day limit.

Not our kind of camping. Town folk amazing but the river front is rough for tent camping this time of year. Will not be doing again.

It was an amazing stop so beautiful there will most definitely be back and the notion of 3 days free camping is incredible the park manager was awesome kept us informed from day one

This is first come first serve with no electric or sewer. Boondocking area with a three day max.
We were there right before Christmas 2020. The bathrooms were locked. Not sure if it was due to covid or because of winter....
It is open was just there 2 days ago.
You can camp overnight for free on the city side for, I believe, up to 3 days and nights.
