Lake Theo Campground

This is a clean campground with potable water, grills and firepits. Small shelters overhang picnic tables. Very pleasant place to camp. The ducks on the pond and an ambiance that cannot be found anywhere else at Caprock.

Overall, it is what it is..camp grounds; that said, each individual campsite has it's own positive and negatives. Our site, number four (4), was not build for two tents, but we managed to figure out how we could get them set up. We stayed for five nights and the best nights were when the other sites were empty. Sound travels really good and you can hear everyone. The Basion can be seen grazing just outside the campsite and can also be viewable across Lake Theo. Fishing was a bust for us, couple of bites but no catches. As for firewood, the only location we could find to buy it was the local towns Alsups convenient store, at 6 bucks and some changes. Would we revisit? Yes, already have reservations for later in the year!
