This is one of the smaller Fiesta Mart stores. As such it lacks an in-house bakery apparently and it lacks a hot food option. Unfortunately, this also meant that it lacked items such as the Fiesta brand corn tortillas that I went to buy. The substitute brand I had never used before and turned out to be vastly inferior. Double disappointment. Being somewhat small is also reflected in departments such as produce. It's still a reasonable selection and the prices aren't bad although they aren't nearly as good as they used to be. That goes for the entire store, but that's hardly just Fiesta Mart. One example that I noticed was a brand of margarine that used to sell for between 88 and 98 cents a package was now $1.29. The quality of the produce was very good and the vegetables and fruit all looked appealing. I was especially happy to see bananas in varying degrees of ripeness since I prefer mine on the greener side. (Greener bananas have more resistant starch and a lower glycemic index which matters to diabetics for less impact on blood sugar levels.) For the best prices on at least some produce, wise Fiesta shoppers know to go on Wednesday. No butchers counter here either, just pre-packaged meat and poultry. I did find a relative bargain for hot dogs. Out of all the big weiner brands out there I prefer the taste of one of the cheapest, Bar-S. That goes for frozen corn dogs as well. They were $1.29 each but that included the jumbo and bun length which are usually more. Sadly, inflation meant the plain store buns cost more than the hot dogs . Grocery shopping has become a painful process for those wanting and/or needing bargains. Fiesta is no worse than other stores but remembering their historic bargains just make it seem worse. This store is clean and shelves are well stocked. Staff seem friendly enough if not particularly helpful without hunting them down. I bring my own reusable bags, this time boldly emblazoned with the HEB logo. But I was asked if they were mine or if I bought them there! Still, not as clueless as the big "W" store where a check out clerk wasn't sure if she was allowed to sack in another store's bags! This is store is fine for most things. It has the usual Hispanic typical things like two kinds of tunas, that is the cactus pear type to we Anglo types, not the fish. The bakery area had the usual pan dulce and bollilos and wedding cookies. It simply isn't anything special to give rave reviews

The Monday that I bought a party, two seafood employees attended me with a great attitude and with good customer service, they are kind, specifically the youngest, always with a smile.
