The friendliest place you will find in a 100 mile radius!

This place is like a family. As I walked through the door for my first class I was greeted by coach Tony and professor Pete. Both are top notch individuals who treat all of their students with respect and dignity. There’s good energy in that building and it’s the staff that make it that way. I would recommend this school a million times over. Sadly my journey has been put on hold but, when I do start again this will be the place I go. Thank you for the opportunity to train with you guys, it means more to me then you could ever know. Lastly, to anyone considering learning this martial art consider Mchugh BJJ. You wont be disappointed

Good experience for the kids..

I am a BJJ Black Belt with 23 years, & counting, in the art. I have trained at some great places & with some great people. I have also had the opposite experience. We started by taking (making) my daughter train at McHugh's. She loves it. The instructors are unparalleled in their teaching and coaching skills. As a result of my daughter training there, I began to train there. Mind you, I was already a Black Belt. THERE IS NO JIU JITSU ACADEMY ON THE PANET THAT EQUALS MCHUGH JIU JITSU...NONE!!! The competition is top notch. THE KIDS PROGRAM IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD. I will take my daughter nowhere else because, after 3 years, she does not want to go anywhere else. Many of the adult students started out as just parents of students. Now they are training regularly & are world beaters. I may hold high rank but I am old & have injuries. Everyone at McHugh looks out for each other. Nobody has ever tried to intentionally capitalize on my injury, just so they could say they tapped me. I have NEVER been to a school that I did not have at least one negative encounter. Except for McHugh Jiu Jitsu. This is the BEST place to take your children and the warmest, most friendly, school of elite athletes I have ever trained with. It is also the best place for someone just wanting to try Jiu Jitsu. Take a chance. Try a class. I'll see you there!!!

Hi Caleb, if you’re interested in competing in Jiu Jitsu, we can absolutely help you achieve your goals and succeed. If you’re looking to fight MMA, I recommend you check out our affiliate South Jersey BJJ- under lead instructor Steve Bongiorno. They’ve got a great fight team and can help you get in the cage.
The academy offers fundamental classes Monday through Saturday multiple times per day. Classes typically follow a standard structure of a warm up, technique drilling, and then live application of the concepts and techniques drilled. Classes are structuedd as part of a 3-4 month long curriculum where one position or series of techniques is focused on each week. Newer students are paired off with more experienced to students to guide them through the class. Right now there are classes being done through Zoom and are focusing on core movements and can be done solo or with a training partner at home in your garage, basement or living room.
