It's a hotel in the middle of a state park. You don't come here for the amenities, but the rooms were good. Absolutely Zero cell service so if you're here to hike and enjoy the Davis Mtns you'll love it. Black Bear restaurant was ok but nothing to write home about.

I just toured the facility and did not stay because it was booked. It is a stunning historical place! I hope to return to stay one day. I was told it books up 5 moths in advance.

While very spacious rooms & beautiful scenery, the extremely spotty WiFi/Cell service was disappointing. If you can run cable TV to rooms, you can do WiFi antennas to share your hiking photos or adventures. No microwaves or refrigerator in rooms.

Great location to make day-trips to the surrounding areas and McDonald's observatory. The lodge was very nice but slightly rustic as you would expect. Recently remodeled and expanded. Don't forget to look for the mountain goats in the hills surrounding the lodge. Also, take the road (Skyline Dr.) up the nearby Mesa to watch a dramatic sunset and night sky with a good view of the Milky Way. The restaurant was understaffed by no-shows, so I can't judge the normal service or quality of the food. They were struggling to get anything done the day we were there. A good place to escape the rat race.

Yes, there is a single cup coffeemaker and single cup bags of regular & decaf. You can also request extra bags from the office.
Just ask, they seem flexible
Per the Front Desk at the Indian Lodge, grills are only located in the Davis Mountains State Park Camping areas. The Indian Lodge does not have a common area where grills are allowed.
There is no laundry facilty on the premises, there is one in the RV park down the road as well as some beautiful cracks and crevices in the surrounding country side that retain water after the rain where you can do some boy scout clothes washing, but bring your own rope for the dryer. have fun!
Online reservation system works pretty good, it will tell you what's available or you can call.
That's possible. We booked on a weekday. They may not be open on weekends. The reservations are not made through the lodge itself, but rather a national hotline.
The tent camping is separate from the lodge. Plenty of sites though! Some have electricity and some are near a playground and shower/restroom facility. Their website has a map of the sites and amenities. Great place!

Pretty sure theres a no pet policy, not certian though.
Pets are not allowed in any buildings in state parks. (Presumably, service dogs are allowed.) I think you can bring them camping and hiking, but they have to be on a leash 6ft or shorter the entire time.
