Please be aware when doing business here . I don't even know where to begin . My friend came in and was initially charged the $65 filing fee and told they would deduct the remaining tax processing fees out of his refund ( which is standard in the tax business ) however later he was told by Jackson Hewitt that the IRS was " holding " his refund pending he provide a copy of his daughter's report cards / medical documentation ( as proof that they lived at the same address as him ) Jackson Hewitt then switched from the orginial signed agreement and demanded payment in full to process his tax returns . I thought this was weird being as though Jackson Hewitt claimed he had not been officially " audited " by the IRS the IRS was just requesting additional documentation pertaining to his dependent's. I even got into it with one of the staff when I inquired as to why he had to pay $600 why couldn't Jackson Hewitt just wait for his refund to be processed by the IRS and take what he owed out of that ( as was the orginial agreement ) especially since he had already given Jackson Hewitt the documents the IRS said they needed . Jackson Hewitt refused . He had to pay $600 out of pocket and then was told his refund would be processed since he had given Jackson hewitt the documents the IRS had allegedly asked for . Now fast forward a few weeks later and the IRS is now saying he owes them back taxes . I believe that Jackson Hewitt knew about the back taxes situation and was purposely dishonest which explains why Jackson Hewitt refused to wait for the IRS to process his refund ( and take their tax fees out of that ) they are money hungry and weren't even interested in working with him on lowering the $600 . He came in 3 times and made payments and when he only owed $20 Jackson Hewitt still wouldn't send his returns to the IRS until that remaining $20 was paid ( petty ) you'd think they'd be more understanding especially considering many ppl were impacted by the Covid pandemic . He basically was forced to pay Jackson Hewitt $600 just to get them to send his returns to the IRS and was then told by the IRS he owes back taxes and won't be getting anything back and I believe Jackson Hewitt knew early on about the back taxes and purposely withheld that info while forcing him to pay the $600 processing fee out of pocket . We also asked Jackson Hewitt several times to give us a copy of the notice the IRS sent them claiming he needed to show documentation regarding his dependents and to this day we still don't have that notice . I have 50,000 followers on TimTok and I am going to post a video there telling my followers to be aware . .

If you have a MyJH account, you can log-in and view your filed tax return. If you don’t have a MyJH account, you can reach out to your local office to see if they have a copy available. If you need a copy of your return from the IRS, you can request a photocopy or a computer transcript. Photocopies and transcripts are free from the IRS. If you need an actual copy, complete IRS Form 4506 and pay a $50 fee for your filed tax return and Form W-2.
