My Parents in Law visit here for Eye care. once you become their customer, Accounting department schedules appointment automatically and charges $25 for "No Show". when i called , they removed those charges at first time, after that, i received 2 other charges with same categary. i am tired of calling them for their mistakes. My parents in law are travelling internation for 6month so no one schedules appointment but their system still schedule appointments automatically and send me charges with "no show" title. update7-7-2022 : They sent to tsi collection agency to collect new "no show" $25. Called them again and disputed. This time reception was angry/not professional and arguing that its someone at my family who is making appointments and invoice is not their fault. They even do not want to listen that patients were not in USA for 6mo so who will schedule appointment for given dates?. She do not have answer. Finally, disputed again (3rd time).

just some constructive criticism (I hope they read this). your receptionists need to be more helpful and understanding with people that haven't worn glasses their whole lives. that goes for terminology used and more importantly, insurance coverage. I had to pay for my exam upfront because the receptionist didn't want to spend 30 seconds verifying my coverage. I tried to explain that my insurance might cover it and tried to provide my insurance card. I wasn't sure if I even had vision coverage as I've never needed to use it before. I was told that providing it wouldn't help. that they'd have to look me up on various websites or something, but they didn't even try. so I paid $65 for the exam. at the end, I was given a prescription, verifying to me that I do now need reading glasses. so right there in the lobby, they do have a shop to buy glasses. a different person helped me there. once again I explained that my insurance might cover the cost of the glasses. this time, this person actually took 30 seconds to find out, and sure enough, I'm covered for the glasses AND the exam that I already paid for. of course I mentioned this to the person who was too lazy to perform this basic search. I was refunded, but come on.. again, for people that already wear glasses and understand everything, this place is probably fine. But for newbies like me, who only later in life realize they need glasses, their receptionists need to be more helpful.

The staff was nice enough, but I was there for almost two hours, and that's without a vision exam. It felt like a cattle herding type place. The exam was broken down into parts with different technicians, with a 10-15 minute wait in between, and about a 30 minute wait while my eyes dilated. So when I finally got to see Dr. Tai, she spoke with me for less than five minutes. When I entered the room, it was really odd as she sat with her back to me. Then after she told me what I needed to know, she turned her back to me again while I awkwardly exited the room. They referred me to a specialist and it took me over two months to schedule that appointment, because the specialist's office told me the authorization needed some corrections and it took them six calls over to South Coast before they finally got it done. (of course, that could have just been a finger pointing, but after my experience I'm inclined to believe it)
