Share accurate information with your tenants during move-in/signing process the first time you talk with them. In addition, make sure EVERYTHING is functioning properly before move in. Within the first week in my new apartment, my air wasn't circulating properly, my dryer is broken and causing my close to be caught on the lint collector and rip, and my air conditioner is running continuously, therefore increasing my duke unnecessarily.

I’m happy with the apartment itself, but management leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve lived here two years and have seen at least 3 turnovers of management. Here are some issues I’ve run into: trash and recycling are always full, maintenance staff is a little abrasive and not easy to interact with, it takes a while to really get an answer from the office, and I’m frequently having to do inconvenient odds and ends that don’t seem worth the extra time (retrieve a new parking pass without explanation of why the other one isn’t good enough anymore, sign up for a new package service when packages are still left on the floor, receive multiple emails with corrections every time there’s some new announcement, deafening fire alarm set off without notice outside of being told what day it would happen on)

The staff could follow up personally with a phone call or something to ensure that the move in process went well. Also I didn’t get an explanation about the trash compactor and also they could go over the lease agreement to make sure it’s clearly understood. I forgot to ask about the due date for rent, does the typical 5 day grace period apply and no one discussed that with me.

The location attracted us to the Gantry in order to set up an appointment. We love Northside and wanted to stay close. When we got there me and my boyfriend couldn’t find the leasing office at first and one of the tenants were so extremely nice helped us find it and showed us a different way to get there as well. After walking into the beautifully decorated office the leasing agent was so nice and had such a reassuring energy that it helped to calm some nerves. On top of all the great experiences we had so far once we made it to the apartment it was so incredibly clean and Lydia Fitzhugh gave us so much information even pointing out key things we definitely loved. The entire time we felt right at home and are so excited to move in.
