Depends on what kind of hotel you want to stay in . There is a couple about 15 min away like days inn, holiday inn , or you can stay in downtown and thats about 10min away from the venue but you have the western, the Hilton, more up scale hotels downtown.

Yes you can pay ahead of event. Don't think its any lesser but more convenient.
Yes if you don't like walking a little bit there's free parking on the street up and down the Avenue the area is pretty nice so you should be comfortable walking to and from your car
