This hotel is staffed by a very friendly and outgoing group. Very clean. The restaurant was well run, and the service was better then what I recieved at my conference at the Marriot near by. Would definitely return and will recommend.

Please be warned not to go to this hotel at the moment. We were only going to stay for a night but ended up leaving. Not only were we not made aware of the construction going on INSIDE the building but our room smelt so strongly of paint that we couldn’t even be in the room for more 30 minutes. We went to the front desk to tell them we would be leaving and not staying the night due to the strong chemical smells and construction and instead of a refund or discount we were just told “okay” and no further action was taken. Very upset that we paid for a night at a hotel and not given anything for the inconvenience we dealt with along with not even staying the night that we paid for.

1. Reservation made with Discover; but arrive and they 'DO NOT TAKE' Discover; DID NOT advise of that prior to arrival! SO, we would have been put out in the night had I not had a Visa with me? LOST my Discover Rewards $$. 2. Never notified of construction going on; elevator sign said construction started at 9AM; however it started at 8AM promptly AND DIRECTLY above our room. Why do you place guests on the floor directly under the one being worked on? 3. WORST BED EVER!! Mattress soft and lumpy; frame creaked and cracked with every toss and turn (many due to being uncomfortable) and sounded like it would collapse any minute. 4. Hot water to the bathroom sink took FOREVER to reach it. Bathtub very marred so could not have a relaxing bath. 5. Impossible to regulate the heat/air; would not hold at setting. 6. OVERCHARGED the RATES were far too high for the quality (or lack thereof) of the room. Seems that they were charging the standard rates but providing very substandard rooms! The only two good things were that the room was very, very clean and the location for what we were doing. We have several more trips planned to the area and renovations or not, highly doubtful that we would return to this Ponte Vedra Hilton. Will be glad to pay higher rates and/or travel a bit further in order to avoid having to use this place again. I'm sure it will be much nicer after renovations, but the fact that they overcharged, did not notify ahead of time of the construction activity and DID NOT ACCEPT DISCOVER; the whole experience was just too, too FRUSTRATING AND INFURIATING!

Stayed this past weekend as part of a room block for a wedding. On arrival we found out the hotel is under renovations/construction. No one that booked rooms were notified, not even the bride and groom, that there would be construction. A little work would be one thing, but they literally built a wall down the middle of the lobby and moved all the services (check-in desk, snacks, coolers) to the other side. You had to walk on tile, that wasn't finished being installed. Construction was going on every other floor of the building, so there was no escaping noise and dirt. Dust was everywhere, and it wreaked havoc on my daughter. She coughed all night and couldn't sleep more than 10 minutes before having another coughing fit. My wife and I also, could not stop coughing. Construction was loud, but they did keep it to daytime hours, about 8am - 6pm. My father-in-law had to change rooms because he had no hot water. The bride's room had no water, at all, for a full day on Friday. All signs posted in the building said the water would not be off until Monday. Had we known about the construction we would have stayed somewhere else. We even tried to find another hotel, but everything around was booked by that point. We did get a discount on the room, but, only after bringing up all the issues, and trying to find other accommodations. If the hotel had offered the discount up front, then maybe I wouldn't be quite so harsh, but again it was only after we pressed. For over $200 a night, not notifying a wedding party about construction, not having it on the website, and only being reactive with a discount instead of being apologetic and proactive with fixes, they get 1 star. I know most of the staff there aren't the ones at fault, but whoever decided not to tell anyone ahead of time you would be forced to walk through and next to active construction workers laying tile and hanging drywall and share elevators with them moving raw materials in the elevators was in the wrong.

I’d this close to the beach? And near the zplayers golf tournament?

It's close by car 6 min. To the South, there's Mickler's landing where there is free parking and to the North, Jax Beach 10-15 mins away where there's free parking during the week and paid during the weekend
