This is an attractive, well-maintained hotel and a rarity in St. Augustine Beach. That is, most of the beachfront has been bought up over the years by large, expensive residences or condo associations. So beach access is often limited to streets. However, although this complex is offset towards A1A, it has a beautiful, landscaped walkway between two private properties to the beach, and essentially its own private beach access - well worth it. Yes it's a fairly long hike (about 600 yds.) over two rows of dunes to the wide beach, but no hotel along most of that strip even has that type of access never mind being equally offset. It's not an easy walk for disabled or handicapped people, but it's not much of a problem for the average adult, even with beach gear. That's just the way the entire beach is, not the hotel's issue. As far as the hotel, there are three buildings - a long row perpendicular to the beach, a beach-facing smaller wing, and a single separate beach-facing structure (mostly with very large units for big groups). You can see the beach from the upper floor of the smaller wing and the separate building, and they'll be a higher rate (typical of any hotel). But to me that's not such a big deal since the beach is a fair distance away. The grounds are almost immaculately kept. The pool is big and was clean with clear water. The room was very nice (we had the room next to someone on here who complained of odor and "structural concerns" (sloping) and we had nothing of the sort. Clean room with no odors or any problems. I also enjoyed the fan above the bed, which really helped cool it down even more. Our room was small but very attractive and comfortable. Quiet A/C, bath plumbing was excellent, and no wears or tears I could see. The room-service style brought-to-you breakfast was a great touch. They give you a card to fill out (limited food choices and preferred served time window) and you hang it on the door overnight, and then they give you a call just before your 1/2 hour window starts to make sure you're there. Biscuit was delicious and hot, muffin equally so, and the juice came in a sealed plastic cup. No coffee, but you can make that in your room anyway. I thought it was great. Management was nice, polite, and helpful - no qualms there. And they staff it 24/7. I will definitely stay at La Fiesta again, we loved its attractiveness, top-notch condition, and especially that pretty walkway to access the hotel-guests-only beach. You can't beat that anywhere in St. Augustine Beach (most of the chains are across A1A or don't have this type of walking access). If it maintains its great quality, it's a strong recommendation for anyone wishing to take advantage of (in my opinion) the best beach and waves in all of Florida.

Pros Rooms Are Ok mini fridge extra sink food prep wet bar area w microwave/ Beds Very Comfy/ 1st floor rooms have a small patio. Others/ some have balconies. Breakfast is brought to your room. Limited choices muffin or sausage egg biscuit and orange juice. No coffee but you can go to the office for that or make in room. Never did see a pool but the property is landscaped absolutely beautiful π I took many photos. Path is fairly well lit at night if you want to walk to beach or half way to beach there is a small sitting area on the mid point of walk way. No laundry on site that I saw and there was No Ice Cons It is approximately 4to500 yards to the beach from the bldg closest to the walkway to the beach. It is a very long walk for someone who is handicap and the path is narrow and there are steps at the lower end. You cannot see the ocean from the hotel bldg closest to ocean facing ocean It's at least 250-300 yards before you even get to the first dunes. We stayed in 119 Over Priced in my opinion $250. that was w a discount. ALSO THEY DO NOT ACCEPT ANY CASH AT ALL!!!

We got a last minute deal on Snap Travel and decided to take it. We booked the pool side queen room. It was clean, but had an odor. I think this is from the air conditioner leaking onto the carpet giving off a mildew smell. My daughter woke up with several bites on her that she did not have the night before. I don't want to claim bed bugs, but just be aware. Our air vent didn't seem to work well and made a funny noise. We got used to it. The rooms are a bit small and the walls are very thin. The breakfast was hardly worth it. We only ordered it the first day. We got a bagel and sausage biscuit. I recommend finding other breakfast options. The pool was nice and clean. It was a nice break from the beach. The location is great and a small walk to the beach. The front desk staff was nice at check in.

As others mentioned, the beach access and grounds are nice. However our room (#205 on 2nd floor) smelled of mildew. It was VERY SMALL and outdated. The floor sloped so significantly that it felt structurally unsafe. The walls were thin, light from mini golf next door glared through the window, the air conditioner did not adequately perform, even though it was cool outside. Needless to say, we didnβt get much sleep. The breakfast delivered to our room was a huge disappointment. I was excited based on description. Iβm not sure if other reviewers got a different breakfast but I honestly thought they forgot to load our basket. My 2 selections, fresh baked blueberry scones, were tiny, hard and overbaked. My husbandβs sausage biscuit was also tiny, soggy & tasteless. There werenβt many other choices unless you like hard boiled eggs or yogurt with artificial sweetener. Lastly, we had to leave early the next morning for our next destination so I asked if we could get something before our departure and was told no - nothing is available before 7:30. Based on Day 1 'breakfast', it wasnβt much of a loss, but for the price of rooms + the hefty resort fee, it seems they could make an effort to accommodate guests as other establishments do - a piece of fruit, a breakfast bar? Weβll not return and would not recommend to others. I planned to discuss my concerns with someone but no one was present in the office when we left. I placed my feedback and room keys on the counter and we departed.

Yes, there is a large Publix grocery store just less than a mile from La Fiesta, as well as many shops and restaurants.
I don't know the exact mileage. But they do have a shuttle that picks up right in front of the hotel that is very convenient. You can buy a pass at the hotel.
Yes usually they will check you in early and let you park and access to the beach via their bord walk
You have many choices. It is a REAL breakfast, not the donuts and cereal other properties provide. Some of the items they provide are bacon (or sausage) egg & cheese sandwich with your choice of breads. The available breads for your breakfast are bagels, biscuits & croissants. Yogurt, and the best walnut quick bread you have ever had. You are offered your choice of OJ, apple juice or milk. There are a few other items offered but I forgot them. They bring it right to your door at the time of your choosing.
