Hello Danielle, There is no expiration date on our packages, only a production date. If you look at the front of the package, there will be a black print with 1 letter and 5 numbers. For example A00120 - would stand for A for January, 001 is the day of the year, and 20 is the year. B would be for February, C for March and so on. We recommend to use the product within a year of the production date, as long as the product is kept properly frozen at all times up until cooking. Sometimes if you keep it in the freezer for too long, with opening the freezer all the time, could result in the temperatures to change causing the product to thaw and freeze numerous times which would damage the product and might cause it to fall apart when you finally cook it. This is why it is important to make sure the product is stored properly at all times, and be careful when you put unfrozen products in the freezer, avoid them being near the frozen products. Hi Witold. We have a production reference number on our packages. We do not carry an expiration date on our product because the quality of the product depends on too many factors. If you improperly store our pierogi, they can go bad in as little as a few days. If they are stored in optimal frozen conditions, they maintain excellent quality for a longer time. Hello Thomas! Thank you for the question. We do not recommend defrosting the product prior to boiling. You can simply boil the frozen product. It is very important to not force apart the frozen dumplings if they are stuck together. They will come apart as you gently stir them in boiling water. Add no more than one package of frozen pierogi to a pot of boiling water and then reduce to a medium heat. Gently stir and wait for the water to begin boiling again. Once the water begins to boil, keep the pierogi in the water for another 2-3 minutes. After, drain the water and allow them to cool off for a minute or so prior to serving. Smacznego!
