Hi, John and Mary, Yes, you can bring a friend, family member, boyfriend, or husband. We believe it's important to have support when you're facing pregnancy. We would request that your friend remain in the waiting room while we speak with you at first and then your guest may be invited in with you if you so desire. If you are bringing a friend or family member to the ultrasound, our ultrasound techs will meet with you first and then your guest may be invited to observe if you so desire. You will be required to sign a release stating your friend or family can be present for your ultrasound.
Hello, Lisa, Our pregnancy test is a hospital grade test. As with any test (home or otherwise) a doctor should verify the pregnancy. Options Care Center offers ultrasound, signed by a doctor as well as a pregnancy test.
Hi, Sandy. This is a great question. We're looking for 3 main things in the limited ultrasound we do. First, we want to identify the heartbeat. This determines whether a pregnancy is ongoing. No heartbeat could mean a possible miscarriage. For a woman considering abortion or the abortion pill, it's necessary to know if she has an ongoing pregnancy. Abortion might not even be necessary. Second, an ultrasound can measure the gestational sac (If you're early in your pregnancy) or the baby. This determines the age of your baby. Finding out how far along you are is important, especially for a woman considering abortion because the abortion procedures change depending on how far along into the pregnancy a woman is. Third, The ultrasound can show if a pregnancy is in the uterus. If a pregnancy is outside the uterus (Ectopic pregnancies are an example.), it can be dangerous for a woman and further care is needed.
Hi, Michaela, Yes, walk-ins are fine for our pregnancy tests, parenting program or diaper program. We will need to schedule an ultrasound, for staffing purposes. If you are looking for only an ultrasound, you need to have a positive pregnancy test. Your doctor can give you a "proof of pregnancy" (a paper that says you're pregnant) or you can have us do a pregnancy test here. And yes, it's really free. We have wonderful donors who support us so our client's don't have to pay. :)
Hi, Ricki, Before using the abortion pill, you'll want to determine if you have a viable pregnancy. Options Care Center an offer you a no cost ultrasound to help you determine if considering the abortion pill is necessary.
